Self Tanner Creams

I am pale as a ghost! I am looking to purchase self tanner creams, nothing too dramatic, but will add some color to my face. Any recommendations on any products??

If you are looking for one for the face, Neutrogena makes a good one, I have heard.

I use Lancome. They make an oil-free one for the face and a regular one for the body. The face one is $25. I am not sure how much the body one is (I don't buy that one as often).

I swear by Este Lauder's Go Bronzer!!!!! It's amazing! I've been using it for over 2 years (i only use it in Spring/Summer) people always ask me where I went on vacation! Then, there's a product they make that is like a mousse that has gold sparkles in it that you can put over the self tanner to make yourself really look golden.

Do you girls have trouble putting it on and looking streaky? How do you girls put it on w/o getting streaks? I tried the self tanners when they first came out and oh my god, I did a HORRIBLE job. So since then, i've been afraid to try it again.

THey're much better now! The Go Bronze by Este Lauder has a color to it when you put it on, so you know where it's going. It looks streaky when you first put it on (I put it on at night, sleep with it on), then the next day, after your morning shower, you wash away all the temporary color, and you're left with a great glow. I don't streak with this tanner.

I can't say enough about it, especially since I've had pre-melanoma, I don't mess around with the sun anymore!

For those of you who use them, do they stain clothing the way they used to?

Re: Self Tanner Creams

The only time it ruins clothes is when you first put it on, when it's wet. And, I found that sometimes, when I'm running and sweating a lot, the tanner will go on the clothes...but that's rare, and it washes out.

I will use over the counter - try Banana Boat. But if you really want something that looks great, use Lancome or Este Lauder.

Thanks guys~, I actually just bought one from Shiseido today. Anyone ever use Shiseido? I usually like Shiseido stuff, so I figured I'd try it. I bought it before I saw all your posts! But if this one is no good I'm gonna try that Este Lauder one.

I am another ghost and I use Estee Lauder. Just remember it's best applied when you get right out of the shower.

Although I don't like these creams, Clarins makes a good one

Definitely exfoliate before using them, it helps it come out even on your skin, especially the rough spots like elbows.

I've never used it on my face (b/c I can be outside for less than 2 min and I get color on my face...usually red)...but on my ghostly legs...neutragenas spray sunless tanner works great...someone actually said to me...'looks like you've been to the beach a lot' since its spray...it goes on very evenly...I use the least amount...light to medium

THis technique is a little more expensive but some tanning salons have booths where you go in and it evenly sprays self tanner on you. It only lasts for a few days. I am not a big fan of store self tanners but my mother swears by the clarins and the clinique ones.
