I think people get jealous, and Its also hard to balance between talking all the time about it and not talking to much about it. If I werent engaged I would be upset at the weddng thing of others. I used to be like that when People were having babies, although now, I'm coming to terms with not having children so it isnt as hard for me, but before it was hard. not that I wasnt happy for them but I felt bad for myself! I guess we have to hope people just get back to 'normal' after the event!

I had a friend like that. I went to college with her and lived with her after school, when I got engaged she said'Oh, thats nice' and went into her room. At my shower this past weekend she was complaining about wanting to go home ane see her boyfriend! She is having issues because she was engaged before and her ex fiancee broke things off.

Yes, it is weird how people react. It's a lot of different issues. It could be jealousy, it may also be friends or family placing judgement on your fiancee, maybe some people never really liked your partner and are negative about the wedding. People like to judge relationships - I've learned and can't be happy for you - if your happy. It's strange, just be true to yourself and your relationship, you can't let the strange reactions or other people's issues to influence your decision.
