Sent the STD!! Do I HAVE to invite???

Original post by debismom

Debi sent STD's to 2 gals, she previously liked! However, after getting to know them, She feels it only proper to follow through on the invitation. She's taking the chance they won't come. Wish I could tell you more, but don't know if they lurk. Opinions? Mary MOB

I would say dont invite them if they are going to cause trouble or a scene- but you did say that she works with them- so if she decides not to invite them, she may want to just tell them ahead that she cant invite them because they are over budget- just to smooth it over

Unfortunately she has to invite them unless they are completely not on speaking terms.

This is why I am not sending Save the Dates to everyone on the guest list only those that I know for sure aren't being removed from the list (mostly work people but still).

Sorry Mary -- I know it is frustrating.

Ugh sorry Mary I have to agree- unfortunately she has to invite them unless they are not on speaking terms.

This is why I'm breakin' all the rules and only sending STD to family members and people on the A list. OOPS! Ha ha!

mary - if she isn't crazy about them anymore maybe the feeling is mutual and it would be an obvious understanding if they didn't get a follow-up invite- I wouldnt stress about it and not worry about sending them an invite that is just my opinion of course

Sorry, but short of sleeping with the groom or cutting the brake lines on the bride's car, STD = invitation. The coworkers should be invited.

Besides just the propriety of the matter, wouldn't it create an awkward situation at work if they weren't?

In this thread, where a guy who received an STD later threw a box at the bride's head, is a perfect example of a someone who should get the axe from the guest list.

Rest assured you broke no rules! Sending STDs only to the folks you're sure you want there is prudent!

this is a tough situation...technically you are supposed to invite everyone you send an STD to..but if they are not on speaking terms anymore.,.i personally would not invite them

hmmm...i am in kinda the same boat...i sent them to 2-3 people i am unsure about now...but i think that once you send those people assume they are invited...in the end, i will probably invite these people

If you sent a STD then you should send the invitation...it would be offensive if she didn't.
