Seperate Vactions ????

What are your opinons on taking a vaction with friends or FI/DH with his friends? A Coworker just gave me a 'What's he up to ' look and said a vaction with out you when I said FI was on vaction with his friends this week. I don't feel bad about him going away at all - Do some people get upset about this ? Just wondering because she kinda made me feel bad like he left me or something!

Don't feel bad! I think its perfectly fine!

I went on a vacation with my sisters two months ago and my DH was fine with that. We travel a lot together, but it doesn't need to be everytime. We're individuals and don't need to do everything as a duo.

Some couples like to do seperate trips with their friends. It could be because one person likes fishing and their spouse doesn't or one likes camping & the other doesn't.
I don't think their is anything wrong with it.
Me and my husband don't take seperate vacations but we have a lot in common.
If he is going fishing,he will go out for the day with his friends.

its totally normal - FH and I do separate stuff all the time. We enjoy our time together as well as our time with other friends.

I don't understand couples who get together and then can't do anything without the other person.

Dont listen to negative feedback
If it works for you & fh then dont let this get to you

Whoever gave you that look about your FI was just jealous that they don't have the trust in their own partner that a lot of us are lucky to have with our own! Pete is totally ok to go on his own when he wants - as long as I don't have anything planned for him that is!

Thank you guys soo much ... this co-worker usually has negative things to say so I shouldn't be surprised right ?

I like it that FH and I can experience things with out each other - I think it adds some excitement to our personal lives as well as our relationship.

I think it would be a concern if EVERY vacation was separate...but once in a while...its nice to get away...

since I am moving away from my family...my sister and 3 cousins are planning to meet in a city next year...just the 5 of us...like old times

Your co worker sounds like a jealous, insecure woman who does not have a life outside of her relationship.

It is perfectly normal to do things separately as long as it is not all the time.

We do it all the time. ( that does not sound right) Meaning at least one of our trip each year is w/o each other. ) In Feburary my GF and I went to London and Paris and Hubby and a GM's went to Trinidad. As long as you both are comfortable with it, its all good.

We just went away to Bermuda on a cruise in October - And I went to NC with my family last June he couldnt come b/cause he just started at a new job... so I guess we do go away together half of the time. We also live together so I see him Every waking moment!!!!

This lady that I work with dosent have a relationship she is miserable.

If you and your fi are comfortable with taking seperate vacations....then that is all that matters. Tell everyone else to mind their own business.
