we haven't booked ours yet....I've researched a few places.....we might consider having something at our house (since we've done so many renovations its a good way to show off our work ......but we're probably having around 30-35 people....so that might be a bit much to have at the house.

Do you plan on having yours on a Friday?? We're looking at either Wednesday or Thursday, so at least those are not hugely popular nights for private parties, and there wouldn't be too much competition to book!

We have to have ours Friday nite unfortunately, because FH's family is coming from OOT Thursday night! I'm going to make some calls right now!!

what area are you considering? hopefully I can help w/ some restaurant suggestions.

still looking for a place too. but mine is smallish about 14 people so I figure I have more time. trouble is all the places that have been recommended, we have gone for dinner and think the food is just ok. My diet can't take this so we don't look every weekend. Looking around Massapequa/ Wantagh area if anyone wnats to throw out suggestions.

I think FMIL is going to book it in the next week or so. I live in NJ so it will be out here. Sorry I can't help you with a location!

I haven't done it either. I think we're just going to have a BBQ or something at home.

You better get on the ball.

i think posting the question covered getting on the ball... im not a sept bride, but try milleridge inn on rt 106... easy to get to and can handle a larger crowd!

Re: September brides!!

We are keeping it REAL simple for our RD, just a small dinner in the church basement with a couple of dishes catered . . . we've got enough to stress about.

We are not having an RD because we are gettin married in Vegas and we are going to set up a dinner for the people that want to attend and the ones that don't we are having everyone meet at a lounge for drinks the night before (early)

We know where but haven't actually booked it yet. I would not worry too much. I wish I could suggest a place but I am in Suffolk and am not familiar with restaurants around there.
