September Brides: Is it ever going to get here?

I'm am just going crazy, feeling like the wedding is never going to get here! It's still about 2 1/2 months away but it feels like forever. I know it will fly by (and many of you other brides can testify to that), but it's starting to frustrate me. We've been engaged for over 14 months. Anyway, just wanted to see how all you other September brides are feeling now. Mine is September 15th. When is everyone else having their big day?

I hear you!!! I have been engaged since Memorial Day weekend last year and I am so anxious for our day to arrive. We are getting married on September 22 and the minor details are starting to add up to a lot and I am getting a bit stressed...we are in the midst of picking out readings and music for the church, trial up do's with the hair and trials with the make-up, getting ready to send out our invitations and picking out songs for our band to play...so much left to do but yet I wish the day would get here!!! I am trying to keep in mind what everybody says about savoring this time because it will be here before we know it and then the actual day goes by so fast too, but I am getting so anxious!!!

I know how you feel too! I have been engaged since March of last year and am anxious for the day to finally come! I am getting married the day after you, Sept. 16. By that time, it will have been an 18 month engagement!!! I still have lots to do so I guess I should be glad we still have 2 and a half months. Bridesmaids are still waiting for their dresses to come in, have to have hair/makeup trials, pick ceremony music, etc...

Trust me enjoy every minute of your planning. Your day will be here before you know it. I'm getting married in August and have been engaged since April of last year. I thought it would never get here but now I wish I had another month!

It's nice to know there are others who feel the same way. I am enjoying the planning so I will enjoy it while I can. And 2 1/2 months really isn't all that far away, just seems like it after all of this time. I wish all of you the best of luck with your weddings. September Brides

I am getting married Sept. 28th. It is driving me crazy that it is only July. I feel like we are in a holding pattern b/c all of the big stuff is done and all that is left is the little stuff that needs to be done a month or so before the wedding. I cannot wait to be married and go on the honeymoon!! You are not alone!!!

That's exactly what I mean. So much of the big stuff is done, and it's mostly just that little stuff that drives you nuts! Ofcourse right now I could use the time to lose some weight. So I guess I'll use it as a positive. Except my dress fitting is next week. Can't change much before then.

Advice for the last few months....

I know it seems like it's never going to be the big day, but time has a funny way of accelerating in the final weeks. My last few weeks were spent trying to assemble favor boxes, guest hotel bags, programs, print menus, and write names in on seating cards, not to mention setting up the seating chart and finalizing the music and photo list, and packing (I don't live on LI, but got married there) I had good intentions of finishing as much as I could, as early as it could, but time slowly ran out. So take advantage of the time and you'll enjoy the final weeks even more. Whatever you can do now, no matter how trivial it seems, go ahead and do it. And enjoy you big day when it finally arrives!!!!

It does feel like forever!!!

I have been engaged since January of 2000 and am getting married September 23. Right now though I have so much else going on that the wedding stuff is somewhat on the back burner. Just this month my son graduated from high school, I have had my sister and her family (2 adults, 3 kids and 2 cats) staying with my son and I in my small 2 bedroom apartment, and have been packing to move to my FH house, which I will be doing this Saturday. On top of that I have been job hunting since I have been out of work since the beginning of May. Hopefully I can spend more time on wedding stuff in the next 2 weeks as the invitations have to go out in about 3 weeks!!! Fortunately I did a lot of advance planning so I only have small things to do after the invites. I know it will fly by!!!

September 14th - Its getting exciting!

Im really enjoying everything right now. I had my bridal shower on Sunday and it was lovely, we received beautiful gifts and everyone had a great time. We planned our ceremony and reserved our rehersal dinner location. I am strating to get things done and really enjoying it. There was a so much time when we first started reserving everything 13 mos ago now it right around the corner. I hope to finish addressing our invitations this weekend so we have July 4th weekend free. Happy planning to all!

September 16th! I went to see my dress last night and it is the wrong size!!!! I am trying so hard not to freak out. Really hard.

Laura: Dress

Laura, I am so sorry. What exactly happened and what is being done to fix it?

I had major alterations and it was OK

Laura; Is it too big or too small? I lost 30 lbs. between my ordering and my first fitting and the dress was swimming on me. They were able to do amazing things in reducing it. Has the dress shop offered any solutions to your situation?

Laura: Dress

Supposedly, a new dress will be ordered today. I am calling the store at 12N to make sure the order went through. The other annoying thing is that I waited last night an hour and half for what was to be my first fitting only to find out the dress is wrong. I hope the dress will arrive in time.

The dress is actually two pieces. The bottom was too big, not a problem as that can be taken in. The top was too small. I was remeasured and have not changed since my original measurements. I wear a size 6 normally and the top came in a size 2. The bottom arrived in a size 8.
