September/October or March/April

September/October or March/April

Out of those months, I would definately choose September and then April as my choices...only Sept before April because Sept is usually still nice by April is very iffy.

But for prices sake, which months in order are usually better priced? For 2010, does anyone have comparison of prices for evening receptions?

And what does everyone think about best time weather wise to have it?

Thanks everyone!

one guy at the RH said that this is the typical breakdown for months as they relate to price.

Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb ---most affordable
March/April/July/August ---middle priced
May/June/Sept/Oct ---most popular and highest priced.

March is by far the cheapest. I'm pretty sure April is cheaper than September. When I was looking at halls most charged ALOT for September. I think May/June and September/October are the most popular/most expensive months.

January & February are the cheapest months followed by March.

The most popular months as someone above listed is: May, June, September & October (not in any order) Out of all the halls we went to see they all told us price wise those are the highest.

it depends, when i booked my rh there were few may dates left so we also asked about the last week of april. Since it was so close to may and also getting popular they said there wont be much of a difference in price between end of april and May. So if you do end of april, you might end up getting similar prices to september. To save, doing beginning or middle of april you'll save a bit

I'm in the beginning of April and we were lucky enough to be given winter rates... check rhs for specifics

I was quoted the same price for February and March. September and October were a lot more money!

check out the farmer's almanac online for specifics on weather... select your month, day and past year(s)... it will tell you what the weather was for that day!

Re: September/October or March/April

personally i love Sept and the fall and the weather is much more reliable and nice BUT we're also getting married in 2010 and I priced like every month lol because I really wanted a fall wedding but until nov it is very pricey where as dec- the last weekend in april the price was a lot less expensive.

So, if you're going for weather go fall... if you want to go with the most inexpensive than for as much as you may not want to hear this, march/april is definitely cheaper through all of the like 8 places I went to.... that's how we will end up getting married 1/2010

From my research I found March is cheaper than Jan/Feb. March usually has worse weather, its snowny and rainy.

Everywhere I went I got quoted $100 and up for Oct/Nov. Then for January I got quoted $60 and up.

march would be the best priced...i was looking for feb and it was the same as march and mid way thru april....

Re: September/October or March/April

April is the better price because it's still off-peak. Peak is from the first weekend in May to I THINK the last week in Sept or some time in October. We're at Chateau La Mer and the price would have gone up at least 30% if we booked even 2 weeks later.

But September is definitely a nice month because of the weather. So if you can do a smaller wedding to make up for the price difference, I would definitely go September. I would have myself but there was no way to get my guest list down!
