seriously clueless about dj prices--please help!!!

Hi Ladies,
I am just about to start meeting with dj's for the reception. I honestly have absolutely no clue about even what *range* the prices should be in. Help!!! Feel fee to FM me if you're uncomfortable listing prices on here...

I paid $1245 for Ceremony, CH, and reception. Tanbride used him and peabody is using him also. His name is DJ Glenn Passarelli of WGJP Sounds.

we are paying $900... that's a very good price! I was quote up to $2100 when I was looking at different DJ's... call Vinny from High Voltage... his prices can't be beat and he's such an awesome guy to work with...

I am using Ralph from HI-Energy. I am paying $1000 for Ceremony, Cocktail hour and Reception 4 hours for DJ and MC with no extras, but I know that he can add in the extras for a little more, his prices are on his website I believe. He is a vendor on here.

We're paying $1795 for a DJ & MC for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We're not doing a light show or giveaways or anything like that. We were willing to pay a little more for someone who wouldn't turn our ballroom into Webster Hall

Hey! We're using Ralph from Hi-Energy,too! He's great - and prices are so reasonable. We're getting some extras, and believe me, we got so much for the price!! Plus, he did an outstanding job at my two stepsisters weddings - (have you seen him bridget&jimmy?) - I can't recommend him often enough!

Yes he has done all our friends and most of our cousins weddings and I will be seeing him in action again in 3 weeks at our best friend's wedding.

Thanks so much for the leads, everybody! I'm definitely going to check them out. I'm happy to actually have a general clue about what cost should be. The very first quote I was given was over $2000 and it seemed kind of high to me. Glad I asked

I received quotes for as little as 900 for reception and ch to as high as 1895 for the same. It depends what and who you like. The one that I liked the most was 1695. Go figure.

We used Spin Around Sound, and they were great. They wer eabout 1800, I believe.

We booked Jay from Party Up Entertainment. He is actually the son of one of my older co-workers. He is awesome! Gave a fantastic price. We got the free give aways, 4 hr. reception cocktail hour and ceremony. we got a dj and mc. we also got a photo montage as well as a light show. he is also doing the video (well dvd) of the entire shindig =)

don't really want to say how much we paid because i know he gave us a discount. but it was under $2000

WE booked Vinny from High Voltage. We are older (mid 30's) and didn't want 'the full production' for our daytime wedding. He is doing our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception 11:00-5:00 pm for $800. He does have other elaborate packages including lights, mc, dancers, etc.

I visited him first and then 4 others... for my purposes some couldn't help me. Other companies are so used to the big productions they couldn't help me. Vinny is so laid back. He will give you what you want not try to convince you that you need something.

We loved him and I don't have a worry.... at least not about that.
