My friend was tlaking about he did that for his wedding.

I personally would do the JOP and not start marriage in debt with a loan for the wedding or at zero because you just made it. Celebrate down the road with a vow renewal at a destination or a full wedding later on when your not stretching to cover the costs. I know its easier said then done but after the day is over and your left with the bills it might not be worth it.

Everyone has some kind of debt...I think taking out a loan for a wedding of your dreams justifies that debt...plus you can use the money you get from gifts to pay some or all of it right away...I think if someone wants to do it they should.

I respect what you're saying, I just have a different opinion. If a bride wants her dream wedding, and doesn't mind taking out a loan then by all means go for it! I just would not do that. I took a second job for five months so I do understand shortage of funds and having to find a way to cover the difference so the only debt we have is a house.

I totally see your point of view as we're doing exactly the same thing...FH got another contract for a job for the few months to cover our wedding expenses...however, if we were in this girl's situation and really wanted a traditional wedding, I think we would have definitely gone with the loan or cc route...I did not mean to come off as Im right and you're wrong, you're absolutely entitled to your opinion.
