I wanted to show Pat SO bad. I never keep a secret from him. But, it's been since January now and he still has no idea. As time goes by, I am getting more excited knowing that he has no clue. Don't show him. Have him be SO surprised.

i had to hide mine at my aunt's house in jersey

me toooo!!!!!!!!!! but instead i tell him lies and i tell him fake details, but i change it every time.....i think its more about me wanting him to want to know about it.....but hes stubborn and he wont admit it to me!

does that make sense??? hehehe

so one day its super poofy that i wont fit in the limo...then its really tight.....then its a halter....then long sleeves....then its pink....it seems to satisfy me need to talk about the dress to him even though its all fake! hehehe

The tradition was that the groom shouldn't see the bride on their wedding day before the ceremony, which came from OLD traditions dating back to arranged marriages.

In modern times, it evolved into not seeing the bride in her dress before she walked down the aisle.

In all honesty, there is no belief that he can't see 'the dress' so long as it's not on you, before the wedding . . . .

My FH has seen the pic online of my dress. It's a back view, so he still has no clue. He's a guy, so he still has no clue. I'm not 5'10 and 105 lbs. like the model, so he still has no clue. You get my point, show him a pic if you want to . . . .

And for what it's worth, my dad was in his uncle's wedding party, and my Mom, who had to speed up wedding plans for my Dad's reporting to service in Germany, wore his aunt's dress!! My Dad only remembers what my Mom looked like in it on their wedding day, and that was nearly 50 years ago.

Enjoy the planning and include the FH all he wants!!! It's his day too and it's cute he wants a peek!!

I've been having second thoughts about my dress so I'd love to show FH all the ones I'm thinking of and asking his opinion..it's so hard not being able to show him but I def know I don't want him to see if before the big day!!!! Ahh its hard!!!! hehe

It really doesn't bother me at all not showing FH my gown. For me it takes away from the anticipation of seeing the bride for the first time in all her glamour. JMO

Don't do it! I wanted to show FH my dress too but that would take away from the suprise on our wedding day. Also I think my mom would kick my @ss...she thinks it is bad luck!

i felt the same way... the funny thing is that i actually did show him... but he doesnt know it... i was flipping through a bridal magazine and was asking his opinion on a few dresses.... i showed him some ugly ones... some nice ones... and in the middle of the mix i showed him mine...lol.. i did it that way he couldnt possibly remember...lol...
