Re: seriously how do you...
my FH helped me pick my dress out
so he saw me in the sample - i did end up having the dress customized so its a little different - and i have to say that the sample looked ridiculous because it was a size 12 and im a size 0 - so even with the clips and pins it was swimming on me.....i will say that it was LOTS of fun - we both had such a good time and it was really exciting - to be standing in a wedding dress in front of him, it was like the engagement actually felt real at that moment, especially since we both knew it was going to be 'the dress' - we both couldnt stop smiling, we were all giddy, it was a great moment and i dont regret it at all...
i dont have my mom here (she lives in florida and so does my little sister) and i didnt really want to bring anyone else....FH and I are not superstitious, we already live together, we are seeing eachother before the ceremony, we just aren't very traditional so for us it wasnt a big deal - dress shopping was def was not what i pictured growing up - my mom still hasnt seen me in my dress - but like i said, i have no regrets, and im glad i got to share the excitement with my FH....
when my dress came in i took my FSIL and FMIL with me to see it and we took pics - those FH cannot see - he got to see me in the sample and thats all he gets (especially since i had the neckline changed and the dress although still way too big on me - it fits better) - so now he has to wait until the wedding - i know that it tortures him
but i like that when he imagines me on our wedding day he has an idea of what i'll look like - and he won't be disappointed (my FH is very picky
) - its kind of like he got a glimpse into the future which i think is sweet....
i think if you want to show him, show him - as long as you are both comfortable with the idea....
ETS: my FH also bought my dress for me, which i thought was sweet - long story short - my parents offered to buy it, then couldnt pay it off right away, so i said not to worry about it, i would pay for it - and my FH didnt want me paying for my own dress, he didnt think that it was right, so in the end he actually bought the dress for me....and everytime i doubt the dress i have HIM telling me how much he loves it - which helps!
