Re: shocking
i know! i heard Iams was bad, but Lukins breeder sent us home with that so i didnt thin it really was. they dont eat it anymore b/c i realized that there was better food for them.. but this is is so sad. it makes me so mad.. i cant belive it. the worst part is that it is a company FOR animals that is testing on them did you see the video?!

Re: shocking
No--couldn't bring myself to watch it. I get such severe anger and hatred running through my blood when I see animals being hurt.....that's the one reason I chose not to go to veterinarian school--I couldn't stand to see them in pain. Or worse....when people bring their animals to be put to sleep b/c they just don't know what to do with them anymore---or they're getting 'too old' for them to 'deal with'--it would take all my might not to just kick them in their arse and send them on their way.
I literally put three kids in the hospital at work when I found them 'beating' a racoon in the South Bronx. I have SERIOUS anger-management issues when dealing with animals and abuse. So, I stayed away from the video. Keeps me a bit more sane.
I try to do my part everytime I bring an animal home to rescue--but unfortunately I can't save them all....it's very sad to read things like this---but I feel a tiny bit better knowing that they'll never receive any money from me again.

My Gosh That was so horrible to read, I just can't imagine the pain and suffering those poor animals are going through That's just horrible.
I go into a sort of panic when my dog even limps funny or doesn't respond when I call him - or I think he's mad at me for some reason. I couldn't bare to see all those animals hurt - I'd prolly steal as many as possible to get them help and into safety.

Yes Iams is really bad.
I feed my cats Wellness dry food (they used to eat Iams) and I feed my dog Solid Gold & Stella & Chewies.

Re: shocking
Before you pass judgement on Iams, look who is behind the Iams Cruelty site...PETA . Here is Iams response to PETA's report, so you have both sides of the story.
they dont mention anything about how they cut muscle off of dogs' legs.. nothing they said impressed me

Hillbillygroom, are you serious??? Those pictures/videos weren't taken just anywhere, they were admittedly at the IAMS plant!! Are you saying PETA is not a reputable organization?!?

Re: shocking
Look, PETA has a agenda, IAMS has an agenda. I personally think PETA is not a reputable organization. That is just my opnion and does not make me a bad person or an animal hater.
Here is a news report on the PETA-IAMS issue, they report on both sides of the battle.
PETA maintains that Iams practices 'painful and often deadly laboratory tests on dogs, cats, and other animals.'
The Dayton, Ohio-based Iams Company, however, says that PETA's allegations are based on events at a laboratory it - and other pet food companies - contracted with more than two years ago and no longer uses

Re: shocking
Yeah okay, so maybe they're using another lab??? Doesn't say they aren't doing ANY animal testing!

OMG I feed my dog and 2 cats Iams!!!! I am never ever going to buy from them again. This is horrible!!!
What is a good food to feed them? I am clueless, my vet gave me Iams so I stuck with it, they have been eating it for years. Is it good to change the food on them?
Thanks lolita

Re: shocking
its ok to switch them, just be sure to mix the Iams with the new food. dont just automatically change it or tehy can get the runs. there is a thread on what we feed our pets. check it out, there are some great posts on there!
