Short booking negotiaions

Original post by Valerie-Joe

Hi Ladies!

I'm looking for some advice on getting our RH per person price down. We are planning on getting married in September or October and I want to know if you have any suggestions/tricks. And anyone who planned in a short time, HOW DID YOU DO IT? I wasn't at all worried and now I'm starting to freak out!

Thank You!

I just have to do the math and figure out what I can afford. I've been having trouble figuring out how much everything else will cost. RH is usually around 50% of the budget right?

You have an amazing bargaining chip,by booking so late. Places should discount you a lot. Because at this point no one else is booking, so it is found money for them. Some places may even do 1/2 price etc... that may be a bit of exaggeration. But also keep pushing the places for extras thrown in, they will do it. They want your money... Maybe the hall you decide on can help you with vendors, just do your homework if you choose to go that route... Good luck. Try Flowerfields/lands end, they normally are expensive but you prob can get a great price from them. let us know what happens.

When we went to Venetian Yacht Club to look into 2009. They gave us a Friday night in October 2008 (which is what you are looking for - correct?) for $75. I know the prices are a lot higher for next year.... Try it out : )

Ashely, What is your min guarantee? what day? are you dealing with Joe? He is cool. Someone just mentioned the Meadow Club to me tonight-they went there for a wedding and loved it, my FSIL went to a sweet 16 there and a coworker was married there. We went to the bridal showcase and the food was so good. Did you try the choc martini? You must! We don't drink martinis but wow...

we booked in February 2008 for our Aug 2008 wedding and got a major discount (you wouldnt even believe it) because of that, it was such a short time the RH manager was soo nice he actually brought it up himself, and they're very flexible anyways.. but you should definitely suggest it, they should be able to help you out because of that.
