short local mini honeymoon

I need ideas of where we could go M - F at the end of May for a mini honeymoon.

Here's what I think we are looking for
- driving distance from LI (preferably no more than 3 hours)
- romantic
- a little historic, cultural or something like that
- golf
- good food
- 'reasonable' priced

Any ideas

My friends married very quickly - within a week of deciding to get married - and as a gift my friends and I chipped in for two nights at Gurneys in Montauk as a gift for their honeymoon. They absolutely loved it there and go back as often as they can afford to! It is expensive, but they loved it.
