Should I be worried??

My bachelorette party is the weekend of May 2nd (3 weeks from today). I'm flying with American Airlines to Miami, and I'm just realllly worried that with these MD-80 problems, our flights will be cancelled. Anyone know anything about this situation? Do you think that within the next 3 weeks everything should be cleared up?
With my life and my luck, I should have expected something like this to happen.

I would talk to your travel agent and re-book with another airline. Alternatively you can track the flights to Miami and see if they're all making it out.

i agree.. what if you switched over to Jet Blue? the prices are great going to Florida! then you wont have to worry!

AA hasnt cancelled any flights to Miami. The planes that fly there are bigger planes. The flights that are being cancelled are the smaller planes (MD-80 Jets).

ETA they are expeciting this all to be cleared up by the beginning of next week

thanks so much ladies. I saw on the news last night that this could have been carried over well into the summer for travelers, so it kinda scared me a bit. I never thought of tracking other miami outbound flights...smart idea!

Thanks again! If all fails, i'm getting trip insurance and going jetblue. The only setback with that, is that there's about 13 of us on the same flight...hence my worrisome.

With your posts though, I'm relieved!
