should I buy a veil on etsy??

I fell in LOVE with a veil I found online, I've never seen anything like it in person before at any of the bridal stores I've been to. But the seller is a dress maker in Scotland! So obviously all sales are final. You can see how this would make me really nervous because its expensive and I will kind of be stuck with it if it doesn't work out for some reason. She will customize it any way I want (length,beading, etc). I know my other option would be to see if a seamstress could make it here- but I'm almost positive it will be even more expensive if it was made in the US- especially at a bridal salon where they have overhead costs and employees to pay. She will send me a sample of the fabric so I can compare the color and texture to my dress and she has excellent reviews online. Would any of you risk it? How else can I handle this?

if she's willing to send you a sample... get the sample while at the same time see a seamstress around here somewhere to see what they say price wise.

Hmmm It is BEAUTIFUL so I can definitely see why you are conflicted. It really is a tough decision. If I was not finding anything else that I absolutely loved, I would probably splurge and buy it! Worst case, you can try and re-sell it?

That's a gorgeous veil! Can you ask the seller for the exact color of the veil and then go to where you bought your gown and try on the same color/style veil? The bead work won't be the same, but you could get a better idea of the length/color and to get a better picture of the overall look.

They have 81reviews and they're all 100% positive! That's a great sign. That means you're getting exactly what it says and the quality is prbaly very good!
I would ask for samples and then go for it!!

I actually just emailed her to see if it could be done with a blusher...it's soooo pretty!

Also, be sure of approximately how long it will take her to create and deliver the veil to you - you definitely want to have that for your fittings.

Just a quick warning. I LOVE Etsy, but I know they have a reputation for deleting negative reviews at the seller's requests. There's been a lot of discussion about this on weddingbee. You rarely see a negative review on Etsy, so I dont even pay attention to the reviews.
I only say this because of the no return policy this seller has. That would make me definitely nervous. Make sure you get a sample of the fabric AND the quality of the beadwork first!

Hey girls! Thanks so much for the compliments on the veil and your advice. I've decided to order a swatch from the seller and see how it goes. I'm going to be cautious but if all goes well I think I'm going to go for it!!!! Thanks again for the advice! : )
