should i get a food processor or Kitchen Aid mixer?? who is getting one, and what will u use it for?
FH and i went to register this weekend and their are a bunch of things i am unsure about. Is everyone registering for kitchen aid mixers and/or food processers? Are you really going to use them and for what?? Just trying to figure out if it makes sense to have ppl. spend the $ on these things for us b/c i know they are pricey and sometimes rarely used.

I have both. They're totally different! I use the food processor when I have to chop things - like for making fritters, etc. I use the mixer for baking. I'd say go w/the mixer and they have 'hybrid' food processors now that are processor/blender, so you can use them for cooking AND making drinks, etc.

I have a stand mixer so I registered for a food processor. If I didnt have either I would go with the mixer. I use mine for everything!
You can register for the mixer and get a not so expensive food processer (like $70 as opposed to the $200 ones) or register for a cuisinart mini processor thats $30. I registered for that b/c I really only will use it for chopping veggies.
ETA-you can totally register for both, but if only wanted to do one- I would say mixer.

I'll be getting both, I already have the mixer. I don't really use it but only because of my lack of counter space.

Bottom line: Get both, and don't let your cats use them. Batter doesn't come out of fur easily.

I would suggest the kitchen aid mixer..its the greatest invention ever. I use it for everything lol

like what?? my mom was telling me its good for chocolate chip cookies...but i'd just as easily mix that by hand....

I originally registered for both but then took the mixer off my registry. I don't bake so what would be the point of the mixer?

that's what i was thinking...i bake like once a year, lol. I would like to bake more but that prob wont happen for a while, maybe i will wait till i have kids to get one...i will prob bake more then

I would say both, but if I had to choose one I'd go with the food processer.

We registered for the Kitchenaid stand mixer and the cusinart mini food processor. I think our blender does both too.

Exactly!!! I mean sometimes I bake but out of the Betty Crocker box, I dont think I would make something from scratch with that big asss mixer, hahaha. I would get a hand held mixer, bec you can get good use out of that but not that huge one that comes in diff colors.

I'd say go for the mixer. There are smaller/cheaper food processors you can buy that will do the same job. This is the mixer of all mixers lol An even batter is so much more important to a cake than a minced vegetable is to a soup! lol
