Should I let this get to me??

Ok so yesterday I told someone the venue I chose (Russo's on the Bay) and got really really really upset!!!

The person I was talking with told me how it was an outdated place! It made me feel like I made a mistake at first and now I am just really upset!

She did not seem like she was jealous or anything. But do you think that maybe she was? Should I seriously reconsider my RH? I don't know what to do now ... I was excited and now i am sad

I think a lot of us can relate to this post because we've experienced outside people being critical during the planning process. So far through my experience I've learned I'd like to consider guests comfort level such as temperature, comfortable seats and generally pleasing food. The decor and personality added is all you, and they can deal with that. If I change this to please other people I'll regret it. Plus there's no way you can please anyone so it would just be frustrating. If they have a problem with this they're being lame and farty.

I don't know what your friend's motivation was, a lot of people just say really stupid things without thinking. You could tell her it bothered you if it would make you feel better.

First off - she is WAYY out of line for saying that! RUDE!! and TACKY!

anyway- I LOVE Russo's!!!!!!!! and it is soooo NOT outdated! You fell in love with the place for a reason... not everyone will like it, think of it that way. Everyone has their own style! as long as you and FH like it thats all that matters - but IMO Russo's is BEAUTIFUL! I have been to so many functions there and I love it!

First of all that was a rediculous thing to say.. absolutly tacky...

Second of all dont worry about what she says. FH and i were dying to book Russos but just couldnt afford it. It is a gorgeous place and you SHOULD BE THRILLED you are getting married there.

Dont let what she said bother you. I would say she is jealous.

She is rude!

Obviously people have different taste, otherwise every single RH would be the same and you wouldn't have to look at so many to find one that's right for you. The RH I love may seem horrible to another bride, and vice versa. And frankly, some guests might even have different tastes, but it is YOUR wedding and you have it where you want it.

first of all - when was that person last visited Russo's? I attended a wedding there 2 years ago and even then, the place was NEVER tacky!!!

you fell in love with Russo's and you booked with them. why should that one person's comment affect you? YOU are the one getting married, not her/him!

What a rude negative p.o.s! You shoulda told her to take her opinion and shove it! lol To each's own. Underlying shes got a reason to have felt the need to voice her rude opinion to you (jealousy) dont let it get to you and stick with whats making you happy. Its sad but you will stumble across people like this in your wedding planning process...just make sure to not let them deter you from doing what you want. Whatever you choose is gonna be awesome!

Screwwww her! Russo's is fab! Amazing food and service! I've been to countless affairs there and they were all amazing!

Its not outdated. Dont 2nd guess yourself. I guarantee your wedding will be amazing!

She is an as$%#$#$ plain and simple and has no TACT. Who cares what she thinks...or anyone else for that matter. If you and FH love the place, that's all that matter. BTW..I love Russo's. It's me dream place to have a wedding

Someone told me the were going to book the room that i have but they decided not too bc it was small and ugly. I was upset for 5 minutes but overall I am happy with my decision and I don't care what anyone else thinks. Me and FH love the room and we have more class than that girl!!!!

I went there last year and the place is beautiful. Its obvious the front had recent remodeling and it is a lovely facade. I especially love how the cocktail atrium overlooks the bay. What is your supposed 'friend' talking about? From what I remember, the interior was marble and mirrors. How is that outdated.

and most importantly. the service was impeccable.

some people are true haters. brush it off.

Oh man, dont let her get you down! You booked Russo's for a reason, bc you loved it! And rightfully so, it is a BEAUTIFUL venue with a wonderful reputation and you have nothing to worry about. There will always be someone with a nasty opinion, and those are usually the ones who express them. My ex-friend told me that she would never book at my venue bc they have more than 1 event going on at a time. She told me that there will prob be a Sweet 16 in the next room and that my guests would have to see teenagers loitering around the bathrooms.

Thats stupid, you went to see it, you know what it is like, when was the last time they were theree (probably 10 years ago which thinking back to that, would make it outdated) people just let crap spew out their mouths sometimes I wouldn't worry about it!
