Re: Should I Start Tanning Now?
from my experience, the best thing to do is go the 1st time to a good bed, that you wont burn in, they are expensive, but they are called 'browning' beds and work well...then start at the cheap beds like once or twice a week.

The two salons I went to both had them...theres one thats AWESOME, its 20 minutes and it works soooo good ( alos $29 for one session) , after that the color does show rigth away, not a LOT, but enough. It kick starts you without a burn...I went to another place that said it was a browning bed, it was 12 minutes and I burnt, so you have to make sure to ask them if youwill have ANY chance of burning...The good place is Oasis tan, theres one in Miller Place and one in Babylon and Mineola

Depending upon how fair you are...just make sure they put you in a bed that you won't burn or be sure not to go in too long. If you start well in advance, there's no rush to be tan. It might take a few sessions to notice, but you have plenty of time. Once you get as dark as you need to, you only have to go once or twice a week to maintain it.

Thanks for the tips!! I only burn, and I was curious how I was going to look tan for my wedding. Does anyone know anything about that spray tan? Does it look good? How long does it last? I heard with that you have to worry about streaking. Does anybody know about this?

Re: Should I Start Tanning Now?
I started tanning in Dec- I started going right before my first hair trial- I thought I was maybe getting my make-up down as well- Anyway, I really liked what I looked like with a little tan- I am very fair and am usually not tan even in the summer- so, I have been keeping it up by going once a week- which I find is much easier than starting again from scratch when you need to every other day to build up your base on low intensity, then switching to high intensity to maintain.

I went to the spray tan once for $25 and I would not go back. It streaks, it smells horrible and my hands looked orange for days and days.....14 showers and they still were orange. My face got nothing. My upper legs were all streaked. I looked like I had some bad illness...I did turn when they told me to....it just didn't seem worth the money for me.
I do know people who used it and liked it, I just didn't realy care for it myself.
I just think of Ross Gellar from Friends....if you didn't see the episode....it was funny.

Re: Should I Start Tanning Now?
ross! oh no thats horrible!! i just did a bed. i only went in for 7 mins since i havent tanned in a long time, but i got a shade tanner already! no orange, which is good. what makes me really happy is that they are open til 11pm, so even though i get off work at 8 i can go after.
whats stupid though is that its $150 for a month unlimited, BUT if i go 3 times a week for $10 a session, thats only $120!
