Re: Should I worry
I wouldn't worry. I don't have a FMIL, but my Mom just bought her dress a week or so ago.

Re: Should I worry
Don't get too worried yet. Mother dresses tend to come in very quick. Both my mom's and my FMIL's dresses took about 2 months to arrive. She should definitely start looking soon though, to get an idea of what she likes.

Re: Should I worry
We just got my mom's dress this week. (We just started this week and did not expect to find it on our first try.) If your FMIL is the type of person that isn't really picky, then I wouldn't worry too much. My FMIL is and has been dress shopping since last October!

That's how my mom was! She started looking in August when I got engaged and didn't make up her mind til April. Her sister was the same way for her son's wedding this summer. The two of them went to every bridal store on LI, multiple times!

Re: Should I worry
My FMIL hasn't yet and she is not planning on losing weight. My wedding is August 9. She is a procrastinator and probably won't get it until at most a month before if at all. I have a feeling that she will be wearing something she already owns. Just remember you can't control her and if she waits to long she will not have as much of a selection available BUT it does not poorly reflect on you. Just on her if she is not dresses nice and/or appropriate.

She's a size 8 and wants to lose weight?? Mercy me!!!!!! Well, I think a Lancaster Bridal Shop, told me three months would be enough time to order, but I got my dress off the rack. Mary MOB

Re: Should I worry
No- dont worry. She has 4 months. Thats more than enough time!!! It it was this week, I'd say to worry, but there are so many dress shops that she will be able to find something like the month of if need be.

Re: Should I worry
Do you have some time, yes would I worry YES. I don't like leaving things until the last minute so on a personal level I would be finding a day soon to go with her and get it done.

Re: Should I worry
Mine hasn't either, but I think she is going to end up with an off the rack dress , and in black . I don't care as long as it is new, not the 25 year old 1980 yellow sequened number she was planning on wearing until i tolf FH that he has to tell her that she HAS to buy a new dress
I wouldn't worry

Re: Should I worry
I wouldn't be so worried they usually can go in and get something off the rack. I feel like if they go to a bridal store they have to be ordered by a certain time. Where does she plan on shopping for one??

Re: Should I worry
you need to have something ordered by 3 months unless you can find something 'off the rack'

Re: Should I worry
My mom hasn't gotten hers yet! And FMIL I think has looked, but is waiting to hear what color my mom gets. I want my mom to get something by end of June so that FMIL has time to look. I am starting to get anxious, but not worried yet.
