I hate to admit it - we met in a crappy bar. and the ONLY reason why I was in that bar on that night was because an old friend from college picked it for our gathering. I haven't seen my friend since the night that I met FH but I know that he'd love to come to the wedding.
Should I invite him and his SO? At this point, my list is bigger than I wanted anyway. What do you think? ETA: It's been just over a year since I've seen him and he knows that I'm getting married - this isn't someone that I've completely lost touch with - we see each other on average once a year.

How long has it been since you've seen this friend? Years? If it's been that long and your guest list is already too long, I would say no.

invite him if he was an important person in your life. especially if you know it would mean a lot to him (but only if it's in your means)

I say if you haven't been in touch for years and he doesn't even know you are getting married, then I'd say no. Like you said, your list is big enough and you have to have the people there that mean the most to you.

I should let you all know that by the time I'm married, I'll have known my fiance for less than two years. It's been just over a year since I've seen the friend. Since college, we've seen each other once a year on average.

yeah. when i am undecided i think to myself 'do i see myself seeing this person often after the wedding? if i invited this person and never saw them again, would i regret it?'. usually the people i am close to i want there no matter what, the other people i am just gonna cut. Good luck!
