Shouldn't people send thankyou cards before having another event?

FH's cousin got married last August, she had her bridal shower in August as well.

I just found out she is having her 1 year anniversary party this August.

Mind you I have not received TY's from the other two occasions, now I have to go to this party and bring a gift????

Where are my Thank yous????

That is a definitly questionable move - Aren't thank you's supposed to be sent out 6 months after the wedding at the latest?? And the bridal shower AND the wedding were over 8 months ago??? That's a hrmmmm. I would definetly be a little upstet!

I'd feel a little 'used' if I didn't get any thankyous. Did anyone else get any, is it possible she lost your address...oppps, stupid question, she was able to send you the new invite to the anniversary party.

Hopefully it's 'in the mail', and you'll get it any day.

I would be angry also...if you don't want to go to the party don't go....a one year anniversary party?! I never heard of anyone doing that

Liz .. so right. Sounds like she's not intending to send any ty's. If you didn't get one for the shower gift & went to the wedding, your not going to get one!

I think that's pretty nervy to expect people to come to shower, wedding, and anniversary party and thank NO ONE for gifts received! Maybe someone needs to say something, as part of your 'sorry I won't be there' response to this invitation!

That is totally RUDE! I saw skip the party. Who has a one year anniversary party anyway. I mean, I can see immediate family having a cake for you, but a big party.

I am trying like hell to get my shower Thank You's out before my wedding invites go out. It's takes so much more time than I thought it would. I try to do about 10 a night (I have 85 to write).

My parents always taught me if I had enough time to open a present, I have enough time to send out a thank u card. People say I am so anal about it. It takes a lot of ,you know what, to do what she did, I would not go to the party! Talk about TACKY!

THANK YOU LADIES!!!!!

I probably won't go. I will make up an excuse about doing wedding related things.

A one-year party?? I mean how much can you be expected to celebrate another couple's marriage?

This might sound b*&chy, but I think it's very nervy to have a one-year party even if they did send thank you's. If they want to have a party, let them make it about something else, like beginning of summer, of July 4th, or a birthday.

And not sending thank you's is just horrible. They should spend their time saying thank you and not planning another party.

you should show up,
only bring a dessert with you,
and durring they party you can say ' my thank you note got lost in the mail, did that happen to anyone else?'

UMMMMM. . . Yeah. Some people are rude. I went to a shower once and never received a thank you note. After the wedding we received a wedding thank you that said 'Thanks for sharing in our day. Love, Rude and Ruder.' It didn't even have our names on it!!! (you know 'dear so and so') Apparently they wrote this on all of their thank you's.

Oh I can add to this... My cousin who got married May of 2001 had the nerve not to send me a Thank You for the Bridal Shower I threw her ( I was MOH) nor a Thank You for the Wedding (which I gave a generous gift). She told my sister, she figured I wouldn't mind not getting one, because she ran out... RAN OUT?? What the heck is that... don't you think you would make your MOH priority on the list of Thank You's. She could have even just got me a special thank you from hallmark for all I care... I still hold a grudge till this day... wait till my wedding thank you's go out...
