shower gift question

did you open gifts that were mailed to you (ahead of time) at the shower?

quite a few gifts were sent to my house and my mom took them so I couldn't see them and is bringing them to my shower this weekend.. (not a surprise) will that be too much to open or do you think that is normal? there will be like 45 people at the shower if that makes a difference..

When I was the MOH I actually had the ppl that could not come mail them to my house so that I could bring them to the shower.

Most girls I know opened items they received and immediately sent thank you notes out. FH & I will do the same.

I opened most of them beforehand. I didnt realize that you were supposed to bring them to the shower. I dont understand why people who are coming to the shower would have it shipped to me if they are expecting me to open it at the shower. Its probably just as easy for them to bring it as it is for me...probably easier.
