My MOH (my sister) and I were talking about when she will throw my shower. (I don't want to know everything, I think it's nice to have a surprise.)
My wedding is April 8th and usually the shower is about 2 months before or less. Problem is that's in the middle of winter! We've been throwing around diff. months and we came up with
November - a lil early but at least we don't have to worry too much about a blizzard.
March - And hope that the blizzards are all gone.
March scares me bc 1. the weather and 2. bc it's SO close to my wedding, I'm probably gonna have a million and 1 things going on and the shower will throw me off track. and I feel like November is just too early.
What would you ladies do?? Need opinions - Helppppp

Re: Shower Quiestion
If you go with the beginning of nov it is early enough ot to interfere with the holidays but it is 6 months before the wedding if you go with the beginning of march it is still 5 -6 weeks before the wedding which will still give you enough time for a bach party. Me personally speaking I would go with March bc i like to have things to look forward too.
We got engaged on christmas and had our e-party in may and just set out wedding date for next july.
big gap!!!!

humm umm I think I would want to do it in March. Nov. is just before the holidays, money is usually tight with people. I would do it March and hope the weather would be good.

Wow, that is a tricky one. I agree that November is too early. Even if you tried to do it in the middle, the holidays get in the way and it would just be crazy. I would probably go with very early March so that you still have a whole month before the wedding. Don't worry- it will all work out!

In terms of snow, I think you're taking just as much a chance having it in early March as you are in Jan or Feb.
That said, there's always going to be SOME reason in any month that a problem could occur... November is really early. I would just plan to do it in late Jan, or Feb. I mean, girls get married then, right? I don't think it will be such a big deal.

Re: Shower Quiestion
thanks everyone.
I'm def. putting March back up in the running. I didn't even think of the nov. and the holidays!
Just have my immediate family coming from NJ and am afraid of weather keeping them away
Maybe late feb. early march.
Thanks again

I had my engagement party on march 19th and it was almost 75 degrees!!! Don't worry about weather, I had people driving 2 hrs.. Almost half the people drove from westchester to flowerfields! It will be fine!

I think anytime is totally fine!
I'm getting married March 26th and my mom wants to do my shower in November. She too wants to avoid the snow.

Re: Shower Quiestion
my sister wants to have my shower in Jan. I found this winter most snow storms were durning the week anyway. There will never IMO be a perfect time for a shower. MY cousin who is getting married in 2 weeks just had her shower almost a month before the wedding. And the weather in March is DEF nicer then in Jan or Feb. this year on our year mstk it was like almost 75 degrees.

Re: Shower Quiestion
Nothing wrong with November at all.
Our friend's wedding was at the end of April and her shower was in Nov. I think they probably did it for the same concerns you're having and maybe to throw her off the loop a little.

I think you should do it in feb. March is really close to your wedding.

Re: Shower Quiestion
Thank you so much for all of your help.
I think she is moving it to March. Not 100% on it, but I don't want to be. I'd like a little of a surprise!
