My mom asked me last night if I wanted my bridal shower to be a surprise or not.....
at first I thought I wanted to be surprised, but now I am not sure??
What are the pro's/con's of being/not being surprised??

Pro's of being surprised about the date and location... uhm i dont really see any pros... other than being surprised
pros of knowing when and where... you can make sure youre wearing what you want...

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
i'd say be surprised.... we have so much planning to do for the engagement party, rehearsal dinner, bachelorette party, and the wedding that I don't want anything to do with planning the shower. I think no matter what, people usually have an idea when it's coming, but I think it's nice to be surprised and see everything that day...location, favors, decorations, etc. I think something is taken away from it when we have too much to do with planning it. Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
imo there really is no surprise except for the location.
i mean come on............you know its coming right?
the big con is how you will look. every bridal shower that ive been to that was a surprise the b2b was dress down while everyone was all dressed up. then again it really wasnt a con because all the b2b were soooooooo happy they really didnt care what they looked like.
i know i know.......this really didnt help much. thats probably because im planning mine with my bp

i want to be surprised, im doing it kinda backward though.... cuz my mom has no idea where to start so i went with her to a whole bunch of places and ultimately she'll pick which one and the date

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
i told my mom i didn't want to be surprise... we all know its coming, so i would rather be dressed and done up the way i want! i also always figure things like that out and mom is just as bad a liar as me so what was the point?!

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
I would want it to be a surprise, though I doubt anyone's throwing me one and I am defentially not planning my own.

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
Def. wanna be surprised!!! I wanna show up and not know anything!! Its the one part of the wedding that I dont have to get things ready for or know anything about! I love that thought!

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
I kinda want to be involved in planning my shower, but I agree with what Maria said. We have so much stress with planning everything else, we should just sit back and relax and let this be planned by someone else. My mom refuses to let me utter a word of input into my shower. I don't know if I'll be totally surprised because I may have a feeling, but I like it better that way than doing all the work.

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
I told my girls that I wanted to know. I knew that I would find out since I have some big mouths in my family and I didn't want to do the whole fake suprise thing. Con of knowing is now my sister's come to me with any drama or questions about it!

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
a friend of mine picked out a dress.. gave it to her mom and said i want to wear this- so on her bridal showershe came in with jeans on looking very casual so after the initial surprise- she changed into her dress and her mom brought all the accessories -so it worked out really cute!

Re: Shower - to be surprised or not
I can't be surprised because there was only one real date that worked for everyone throwing me the shower. We also had to start talking about transportation to LI so I also know the location.
Hopefully they will suprise me with what actually goes on at my shower!
