Wow! First off husbands usually dont go to the shower.. its a girl thing... and people not invited to the wedding shouldnt be invited to the shower... they would be so hurt knowing they are invited to 1 and not the other ya know?

Who is throwing the shower? Your sister or your MIL? If it's your sister, than MIL has no say in who gets invited. Tell your sister to just send out what you gave. End of story.

She needs to be told that it's not proper to invite guests who are not invited to the wedding. It's like a huge nono. That should cut some people. Then explain that they are also women only. She should know this already. That would cut more people. Then tell her that it's a small shower, not a huge wedding, and it's for YOU not her, and you only want people you know well. Then tell her thanks for her suggestions, but you are deciding who of this list is going, and leave it at that. Don't let her weasel her way back in. Leave it as final. If she keeps talking, say thanks for the suggestions, I am choosing who gets to come, and keep repeating yourself.
