We are having people at many hotels in the area of our wedding. So we are going to need a shuttle bus to get a maroity of the guests from the hotels to the wedding. The distance will be less then a few miles, but we don't want any Drunk Drivers and a lot of our friends live in cities- so many will be taking plane, train and ferries so they won't have a car.
Who did everyone use in Suffolk county for shuttle buses? how much did it cost from- getting the bridal party- to getting everyone back to their hotels afterwards?

We are also using our limo company-we have two 14 passenger vans shuttling the guests. Getting the vans are cheaper than a big bus.

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
hmmm... its hard when people booked at different hotels. if you blocked off rooms at one particular place you can suggest that everyone meet at that hotel for pick up?

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
The hotels are SUPER close. Montauk is only a few miles (if that) big- so i don't think going to about two or three hotels will be too much of an issue.
Anyone have limo company's they are currently working with? I'm estimating between 800-1000 for two shuttle buses? Does that seem right?

It depends on the size of the bus. I wanted one 49 passenger bus and the cheapest I found was $750 with Fantasy Charters (recommended by another 07er--carolinep24). We only blocked w/one hotel so had the bus come at 6:30 and pick the guests up at RH at midnight.

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
We used Horizon Bus. In our contract, it was specified that the bus would make 4 total trips.
If you can get free shuttles from the hotels, that would be the best and cheapest option.
If you can't work that out, you may be able to get one larger bus to do the circuit.
Whether you use a bus or a shuttle, make sure you have a reliable friend or relative in charge of telling the driver when to go! This will help ensure that no one gets left behind by accident.

I would call the local cab companies in Montauk - Pink Tuna, Celtic and . . . I can't remember the yellow one's name. In Sept they may be dying for business and many of them have vans. You may be able to work out a deal with them.

FMIL is handling this, she booked with Hampton Jitney--I don't know what the price was, but she decided it was the best deal....so maybe look into that!

That's what we are looking into right now. But it seems our limo company is the most affordable. The hotels really are steep with their prices.

Oh the Jitney would be great. I got a great price quote from them and their home base is out East so you won't have to worry about them not knowing the area.

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
All awesome ideas....i'm going to check the Taxi companies & the jitney. I doubt we're going to do limo's since almost everyone will be getting ready at the resort.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
So did you have a shuttle BEFORE the reception to the RH so their cars were there THEN had the shuttle to the hotel after RH?? We are having an after party and don't want people to worry about their cars the next day. TIA

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
We are having the shuttle from the hotel to the RH and then back later that night to the hotel. Lindsey has 14 pass vans for a good price. you can set up a few runs. jitney def knows the east end.

I would seriously tally up the amount of peps staying at which hotels and get a total head count when it is closer to your event.
The hotels usually provide free shuttles for more than 15 p staying at their hotel as a courtesy. If not I would ask them to recommend a reputable shuttle service that they use or know of.

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
my hotel provided them free of charge!!!! (Wingate Inn in Garden City).
They took a slew of international guests from the hotel all the way to Baldwin from the Mass and the picked everyone up from the hall and brought back to the hotel.
they also took the international guests to the train station to go to the city and also took them to Roosevelt Field Mall and the Source free of charge the other days they stayed.

Re: Shuttle Buses- what did you do?
Hello...I did not get to read all the other posts written regarding this topic but I wanted to give my input.
We are renting 3 coach buses for around $800 each. They have an 8 hour minimum so we were stuck renting them for the whole day! (We need round trip to ceremony.) It is not cheap but we are expecting 70-100 out of town guests and wanted to accomodate them. Our hotel is 20+ miles from CH. Good luck to you!
