silly question but what do I do first....

negotiate prices with the venue or try the food?
my original thought was y negotiate price I'd the food doesn't tastegood.... but then I thought make sure they can work with my budget first then try the food.....
what do u ladies think?

We negotiated price and then put a deposit pending the tasting. After the tasting we signed the contact. We put a deposit so they would hold the date.
