go for what you love...if you like something more simple there is nothing wrong with that! I agree to definitely look at Marisa dresses as well as Paloma Blanca gowns. Paloma Blanca has some of the most fabulous gowns I have ever seen. What kind of style do you want? I love looking up gowns! I will post some pics!

My dress was Paloma Blanca! I love simple and elegant made from good quality (ex: simple invites on linen paper, a beautiful solitaire e-ring, etc). My wedding dress was A-line with subtle pickups, made from raw silk, with a bit of lace and a few beads/pearls up top and buttons over the zipper. I dont think I've seen anyone else on here even try it on, let alone wear it, but it was different and very 'me' -- I tried on a million wedding dresses with an open mind and eventually narrowed it down....

no satin, no ballgown skirt (looked ridiculous on me), didnt want the top and bottom to look like 2 separate pieces, no embroidery on the skirt, nothing flashy, etc.

dont let anyone talk you out of what YOU want.

When I was going for what I had thought I wanted, I was looking at Paloma Blanca because they are beautiful gowns, yet simple.

Re: Simple wedding dresses

the dress shopping can be stressful and overwhelming. I start shopping for my gown before many other details are determined. You might have had a clear mental picture of the perfect wedding dress ever since you were five years old.
On the other hand, you may have no idea what you are going to wear or feel strange about the idea of wearing white. I think the important thing is to relax, and remember that there are as many different kinds of dresses out there as there are different kinds of brides.

Good luck on your wedding dress!
