I've lived in the PJ area my whole life, and to be quite honest, it's a great town, but the restaurants are not the best. Elk Street Grill is about the only one that's good, and Paces.

Pasta Pasta is the sister restaurant to Cafe Joelle, but it pales in comparison to Cafe Joelle.

Kathy, I agree about Port Jeff's restaurants. Some are good, but none are anything to rave over. I really like the new Greek place (well, it's not so new anymore...). I think it's called Z Pita? The food is good, and it's a quick, in-and-out restaurant.

The Spanish restaurant is very good too.

Crazy Dog (same owners as the one in West Hampton) is great in Sayville.
I also happen to love Sag Harbor!!!

Anna, Collins and Main in Sayville is really good. There's also Michael's...although I've never been, but have heard great things about.

St James has a very pretty village and so does Stonybrook!

Sayville Inn is good too. I also like Crickets for casual fare. There's a new place just outside of town - Hot Dogs, or something like that, but it's certainly not hot dogs and burgers, it's upscale white table cloth dining. Down by the water is Cull House (?) or something like that which is supposed to be good too. Right near Cafe Joelle is a little Greek restaurant with good food too.

Huntington and Northport, but I am biased as well...since I grew up between the two and went to them all the time as a kid...

CSH is nice as well...but not as much to do...
