Sirev's Wedding Review
Where to begin. I will start from the ceremony.Holy Spirit in New Hyde Park
The church is really beautiful. Very well lit. The bad thing for me was I was taking pics like a mad woman to give them to her before she left for her honeymoon and since we have an automatic flash camera, the pics inside the church have this yellow look to them
The rain changed things up a bit-no petal toss and she ended up doing the receiving line instead. All the petals we took to the reception and placed them on the tables. My programs were a big HIT! Thanks to Sonicstef's idea, I was able to use that as a mock up and design it for Viv. Flowers were done by Burton's. They did the pew bows with hmm not sure but the bow was red with flowers of some sort in front of the bow. They were pretty but I did not like the fact that they were placed on the pew with a rubber band. Not sure if Viv explained to him how she wanted the bows placed but I did notice that. The bouquets were beautiful! The roses were a deep red, exactly what she was looking for. They had such a x-mas look to them. They also had two church arrangements of pointsettias in pots. They were huge! Very pretty and added to the decor of the church. The reception room she had high centerpieces with a spiraling stand and candles on the spiral. They were really pretty. I won one the arrangement at our table and when I brought it home I noticed that a few of the roses were smaller than others. I am no expert on flowers. I have no idea whether roses are a specific size, if they get larger as they grow... So what seemed small to me, may be normal. The majority of the roses were HUGE! All the petals were open and they are beautiful. Her dais centerpiece was very pretty. Everything matched from the bouquets, to the centerpieces... Don't know if it was wrong or right, but it looked great from what I saw.
I will continue the review in a bit.

Re: Sirev's Wedding Review continued...
Fine Art for Photography and Video: I can't say how they did because I didn't see them much. Don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. They were around in the major parts of the wedding (vows, unity candle, cake cutting...) When Viv's plans were changed at the church, they weren't taking pics in the entrance of the church. Family members were saying hello alot of chatting was going on. She was saying where is my photographer?? During the cocktail hour I didn't see them at all. However they could have been there and I just didn't see them because I was starving!! My face was either in a plate or chewing away and staring at the next item I was picking up! LOL. At the reception they were all over the dance floor. But there was another time that Viv said where is my photographer on the dance floor. So they were around but then dissappeared. This could have just been me that I didn't see them since I was more into dancing than looking for them but she did say where is my photographer a couple of times.NJL Limos: Can't say anything about them but she did have the vehicles that she wanted.
Floral Terrace: The place is so nice!! The table place cards were placed in the center of the entrance and there was an arrangement of calla lilies in a vase. Very simple yet elegant. Don't know if she requested this or did FL do this on their own. The cocktail hour started at 8:30. They had champagne passed around and she had told me they would be passing light hors douevres before the cocktail hour. Honestly I didn't see the hors douevres. This could have been b/c I was closer to the door than inside the room. So not sure if this was done or not. She had a violinist who played beautifully when you could hear him. I could have sworn he was supposed to be walking around but he was stationed when I saw him. This could have been changed last minute by Viv and FL. At times the level of people's voices drowned him out. I didnt' see a mike so maybe that was needed.
Cocktail hour: was insane!! I could not believe the amount of food there. It never ended... Literally it went from one wall to the other and the other side as well. I don't think I made it to the end to taste all the food!
The big problem was the apple martinis. I know its kind of silly but this is Vivian's drink. They weren't serving it! She had stressed plenty of times to the BM that she wanted apple martinis served. The day comes and FH asks one for me and comes back with a cosmo. I go to the bridal suite to drop something off and Viv is livid on an argument she had with her maitre d' on the martinis. It was resolved but it should have never gotten to that extent especially since she stressed it a few times before the wedding. After her argument everyone was getting served martinis that asked for them.
The service was amazing. The minute we put our forks down someone was there to pick everything up and the table was cleared in seconds. Same thing for the cocktail room.
Viennese Hour was HUGE!! Viv will get upset at this but I didn't taste anything.
I saw them set it up, people came out of the room to get the food, I saw people leave and I saw them take the viennese stations apart. I was talking to a college roomie I hadn't seen in months. Plus I was still stuffed from the cocktail hour and the shrimp scampi from the entree (YUMMY!!). I am not much of a sweet person. And I needed to save space for the drinks! Which were delicious. All in all it was as I had envisioned it beautiful!! Viv was gorgeous as she already is. Her mom was beautiful (got her dress from Estelle's) and looked stunning! The girls looked amazing in champagne and black and the guys were so dapper in their tuxes. There was a lot of dancing (as she wanted), drinking and partying.
I don't know who she used for DJ but he was great. I believe he is the house dj for Leonard's. The dance floor was always packed. He played a variety of music that catered everyone. We spent most of our time on the dance floor! We had a blast. FH said a couple of times I feel like its New Years! It really did. We celebrated like there was no tomorrow and what a great celebration than two people I care for with all my heart.
So there it is ladies... Viv will be back from Hawaii on Christmas Eve but going to Puerto Rico for New Year's. She should be giving you a personal review upon her return from PR.
I will scan some pics in the next couple of days for everyone to see.

One more question: Did they come around during dinner asking if you wanted seconds? They told FH and I that they do. Just curious. Thanks!
