Sister Dress Distress!
Dilemma. I invited my two sisters and my FH sister to be in my wedding party. My younger sister is 27, FH sister is 21,I am 30 and my older sister is 38 (and a bit of an insecure 38). I picked a great Vera Wang dress - very simple, black - I think very sophisticated and pretty. Then I hear from my mom that my older sister is starving herself (she's the tiniest thing ever - even after 4 kids) to look good in the dress. My mother did say that ANY dress would have caused the same issues. And my FH said that I should have offered her to wear something else because she's older, like a pantsuit. I didnt' even THINK of how old she was! She's my sister! Part of me thinks she would have been offended if I did that. AAAH!! I am not so close with my older sister so I feel uncomfortable even bringing this up - plus she'll know my mom was blabbing. Any advice?

I wouldn't even worry about it. This is the dress that you picked and that's that, it sounds simple enough. If it is a real issue for her, let her approach you about it. I would leave it alone.

yes, moms say too much sometimes!! (mine totally included). If you sister would have done this to look good in any dress, then why mention it to you to begin with?! good luck!

As long as the dress was not a super tight fitting, must have a killer body to wear dress than it should be fine. I doubt your sister would have wanted you to offer that she wear a pantsuit instead. That is like saying, 'You look super fat in this dress. I suggest something with pants'. Your sister could have just said that she was watching her weight because of the wedding and your Mom took it wrong.Welcome New Vendors
