Did anyone else think last night's episode was ridiculous? What purpose did it serve?

I was wondering the whole time where the story line with David was going, which was basically the entire episode.

it was a bit much! i think it will eventually have a purpose seeing next weeks episode (possible heart attack or something) and it also made him see that he's weak... but it was just torture to watch. I noticed a couple times that he could have taken off so that bugged me. but yet i'll never stop watching
and THATS why you never pick up hitchhikers! Jsut shows that David is too nice and gullible.

I don't think that's why David picked him up, I think David was thinking of sex and that's why he didn't get away. Even when he was all cracked out he was still thinking of the guy and sex.
I'm not so thrilled with this season at all, why won't Rico just get rid of the stripper, George is just weird - why did Ruth marry him?

Re: Six Feet Under last night
That had to be the most messed up episode I have ever seen of 6 feet under. I cannot believe I even sat through it....
That guy was out of his mind......I hope they catch him in the next episode. Dave is an idiot.

Re: Six Feet Under last night
I felt like all the David stuff was also really badly written - it was so obvious what was going to happen ('Um, my grandmother is sick...' 'My ATM card doesn't work...')
I think it overstated the horror, it was like a cheap kind of powerful, predicatable, overkill. And I love David! Why him?!

I knew he was going to rob him...I was just waiting for it to actually happen. David is an idiot that he believed this guy.

Re: Six Feet Under last night
I think in a way that's what they wanted you to see...first how insecure he was with Keith leaving then how he still has that sex problem..and weakeness (remember 2 seasons ago when he got cuaght by the cops in the alley?) he has no guts!!! i think they anted to show you how messed up he really was. But I agree it was painful to watch and very disturbing...
i'm still waiting for Nate to blow his lid!

I cannot believe that Nates mom wants to set Georges son up with that woman in the store. Why does she always have to get involved with everyones business.

Is it wrong to say I couldnt stop laughing when David got the runs? He had it in him to beat that guy up, but he didnt. As much as it pained me to see him mistreated like that, he deserved it for not defending himself.

OMG I totally disagree - I don't think anyone knows how they would act if they were being held at gunppoint. He didn't deserve to be beat up and almost killed

I was so disturbed by the episode, it gave me nightmares. I want to see where they are going wtih this storyline. If it goes no where then it was worthless. If it goes somewhere, I want to see where. No matter how annoyed I get with the show, I keep watching.
