what vendors are you skimping on so that you can spend more on another vendor?
so we've booked our hall and photographer and now we're looking at djs. we have soe specifics that we want but they are gonna cost us...we decided to skimp a little on the florist to make up for the dj. i thought of skimping on invites too...im hoping if i DIY them that i will save money and still have a nice invite

we kind of did a basic package with the dj, we are not into the whole plazma screens and zap shots, so i guess the dj is where i am going a little less on, because we didn't want all the extras

The only thing we are skimping on is the limos, just going very basic to save a little.

We're skimping on the dj.....doing very basic dj/mc combo just music no tvs etc. We are also unsure of the limo situation. getting married at the RH so not sure if we even need a limo. Might have my father use his antique car to drive us there. Haven't really decided. Also doing DIY invites more than likely to save money as well. Refused to skimp on Photographer or hall....after that really going basic and easy.

We're skimping on the limos (one for all of us) and as far as the DJ goes, we're going to do something pretty basic.

we're sorta kinda skimping on video. i know someone who does great video work as a hobby but is not considered a 'profession' (whatever that means! lol), so he's going to do video for us.
limos are up in the air right now..i may only just get one.

I plan on skimping on the florest and invitations. Hopefully limo won't run me too high either.

this will all be decided once i book a hall. once i book i will know how much my parents are giving. i already know FMIL is paying for all the flowers, and FH has told me 100 times, she will pay any amount of money, but i still tell him i don't want big floral centerpices, i think i better shut up about that. the band is going to be expensive, limos i am getting from a friend so i will get a discount but probally will only get 1, first it will pick up FH & ushers, then me & bridesmaids, then the same limo (depending on size) will take us to RH. the video & photographer will be the same guy that my brother used for his wedding & my sister & i used for our sweet 16's so he should be resonable price.

Skimping on the limos---not having them, The Dj will most likely be a close friend, and I am still up in the air about video.

I want to skimp on the florist- I dont really care so much about flowers anyway, especially not centerpeices. I'd rather spend more on the DJ and photo/video.

Unfortuantely, we haven't skimped on anything yet, but I would like to save on the invites because I know most people will look at them and then record the date we are getting married and then throw the invite out, so I really don't want to go overboard on the invites. Also, FH knows someone in the limo business so hopefully we will save there, but otherwise all of our vendors are costing us a pretty penny. Thank goodness for two years, lol .
