Sleepless in Maspeth....

Sleepless in Maspeth....

Ok, day three of getting up in the middle of the night -- not just to pee, which is annoying since I sleep like the dead and don't get up until the alarm goes off (after an hour ), but BECAUSE MY HUSBAND IS A BED HOG, BLANKET HOG AND HAS BECOME A HUMAN CHAINSAW WITH HIS SNORING!!!!!!!!! Good God, last night I'm up, WIDE awake at 4AM because of his snoring in my ear and because of the massive heartburn (oh great, the nausea ends and now that starts). I kept nudging him in the ribs and told him to turn over and he says 'I don't snore', well you could've fooled me buddy!! Then I get up to go pee and not only is his body on my side of the bed, but his pillow is half on top of mine and there's just enough space for me to climb in. Meanwhile another person could come sleep with us because his side of the bed is TOTALLY CLEAR!!! You know, I used to want him to cuddle and spoon with me when we first got married, and now that's all he does -- be careful what you wish for, huh? He grabs me so hard that I feel like I'm in a vice and I can't move!!! Then he tells me in his sleep 'Baby, your belly is getting bigger' -- is it growing over night? And then the snoring starts in my ear!!!

I've heard of how in the last trimester you can't sleep because your body is preparing for when the baby arrives and how you get no sleep then -- but can somebody explain what's happening now in my second trimester with the human chainsaw????? I didn't fall asleep until he left for work at 5:45 -- I put my pillow diagonally across the bed and slept until almost 8AM -- this is why I'm always late for work!!!

Now when I tell him this later, he'll tell me that he doesn't snore and I'm out of my mind and made it up!! And I have another 5 months to go? I'm thinking either he'll be sleeping on the couch or as he said to me the other day, going to a motel!!!

Edited for spelling!

Oh Anna, I'm going to kill him! He called before and told me that I WAS the one snoring!! How is that possible, when I was WIDE AWAKE???

Were Joe and John separated at birth????

When John hogs the blanket, and I tug it to get my share, he'll give me the WHOLE THING , so now I have this huge piled up blanket on me, which UN-MAKES the BED !!!

OMG!! I'm laughing my butt off over here because we also have the same conversation...and it is definitely worse now in the 3rd trimester because when I do get comfortable (which is hard enough) I absolutely HAVE to get up to pee and then when I get back into bed, the snoring doesn't help the falling asleep process! Isn't this FUN!?!? And I have also been told that it's me! Men are too funny!!

I'm so glad that it's not just me!!! Joe called me before and told me 'you were sawing some wood yourself there' -- ok, I'll admit that when it's really hot in the room, I will snore -- especially if my sinuses are clogged, which they are. But come on, how did I keep myself up????? I swear, I better get some sleep tonight or else he's outta that bed!

Awww Deb, I feel for you.
Patrick doesn't snore, but he is a bed/blanket hog, and that is annoying!

Re: Sleepless in Maspeth....

I could have written this post 'cept I'm 'Sleepless in Seaford'. Misery loves company, Deb. DH snores and occasionally throws an elbow in my direction...he says it's inadvertent since he's asleep. Uh huh, right.

Not to mention, this sleeping on my side is killing me!!!!!!!! I get comfy, doze off, wake up 20 minutes later w/ excruciating hip pain, roll over to other side, get comfy, doze off, wake up 10 minutes later to pee. Do you see the pattern?? LOL

15 more weeks then no sleep ever again!!! EEEEEK.
