Re: Slow cooker/Crock pot recipes

I ALWAYS make italian Sausage for subs in mine (just made it tonight)...LOL i just put a pack of Sweet Italian Sausage (like a 5 link pack). 1 small can of diced tomatoes, 1 Green Pepper (sliced up), 1 Medium onion (sliced into rings). 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper (you can adjust this), 1 teaspoon garlic (diced out of a jar). Throw it all in the Crock Pot. turn it on High for an hour to get it going. Turn it on Low let it cook 6-7 hours.

I buy these really good Hard Rolls to put it on & then serve it with a Pasta Salad.

Re: Slow cooker/Crock pot recipes

oh poo my recipes are on my laptop which is out of order! I make sausage and peppers in the crockpot. I believe it's 6 sausage links (sweet or spicy, I like to do 3 of each). I cook the sausage first to get a lot of the fat out. Poke holes in the sausage and boil for 20 minutes. Then take the boiled sausage and slice into rings. Put the sausage in the crockpot. Cut 2 peppers into slices, place those over the sausage. Then pour about 1 jar to a jar and a half of pasta sauce over the sausage and peppers. I forgot the time you have to cook it for but it something llke high for 6 or 8 hours. The sausage is pretty much cooked when you put it in the crock pot so you don't have to worry about that.

Re: Slow cooker/Crock pot recipes

sooooo easy- coca cola pot roast- sounds nasty is amazing

1 packet onion soup mix
one 5-6 pound pot roast
1 can of coke or diet coke
chopped veggies- onions, carrots, peppers, potatoes, whatever you like

rub the onion soup mix on the roast. put roast in crock pot, pour coke over it. add cut veggies (sometimes I wait until an hour left to do this so they're not too soggy). cover- heat on low heat for 4-6 hours

you can also add a can of cream of mushroom if you like to change it up.

Re: Slow cooker/Crock pot recipes

I love my CrockPot. I use it more during the winter, but you should look for the Fix it and Forget it cookbooks - they are great.

This is a weight watchers one that I make all the time (I copied and pasted)

Crockpot Rotisserie Chicken

1 whole chicken
spray olive oil
Lawry's seasoned salt -no substitutes
Aluminum foil

Crockpot rotisserie chicken
Clean chicken inside and out. Spray with olive oil spray. Sprinkle with Lawry's. Spray inside of crock with Pam. Note: Do not put any water in the crock. Roll 3 or 4 wads of aluminum foil into 2”-3” balls and put them in the bottom of the crock. The chicken is going to sit on these. Place chicken breast side down in crock on top of aluminum balls.
(The chicken breast sits on the aluminum balls, for the simple fact that the natural juices drain to the bottom of the pot, so with the breast on the bottom the juices stay in the breast instead of draining from the breast keeping the breast super moist!)

Cook on High (will not come out the same on low), 4-6 hours. (3lb. chicken took 4 hours)

You have to use the aluminum to get the deli taste. This chicken tastes very close to one you would buy, precooked, in the deli section of your supermarket

**NOTE** wrap a potato in foil and place them in the bottom of the crock pot
to make the foil balls, then you have both chicken and potatoes cooked to perfection
