Small but nice

Ive been with my love for 7yrs and we have a daughter together. We have decided to get married but i don't want to spend alot of money or go to the courthouse. Can anyone suggest anything nice that i can afford.
he has a huge family(1 of 12 kids). I really just want something nice that i can look back and say i loved that day. we just started to talk about it and we want to have a good time without breaking the bank. we were thinking about having a small ceremony at the botanical gardens for around 50 people. but i'm not sure how to do the reception. i just need all the input i can get.

How about a destination wedding?? perhaps just you two or if you want, you can get married at a cool place and bring your daughter along, like Disney or something?

It depends on how many guests you wanted to have and how much you were willing to spend. I know there are a few really nice restaurants with banquet rooms that go for about $40-$45 pp.

You may want to consider looking at venues with gardens for your ceremony. You may need to chose an off-day since many places require more than 50 guests. Or you can try the George Washington Manor. My friends had a 50 person reception there and it was beautiful. It was a full sit-down, open bar dinner with a cake. They burned their own CD and only had the photographer take photos of the ceremony and an formals afterwards. They also had the photographer give them the proofs and negatives and did their own albums and enlargements. That saved a lot of money.

I second the George Washington Manor, my Dad got remarried and had a reception there is was lovely..not sure if it was cheap though

Swan Club may be a good idea, went to a small wedding there and it was lovely as well. They even had their reception there.

What about the 56th Fighter group in Farmingdale or something like that? or Weeping Willow caterers, they are smaller and might be within your budget.
