And you know what? You did nothing wrong- a lay off is NOT getting fired so another place will want to scoop your asss up!!!

AND again- just remember ALL the people that get jobs from those sites and ALL the girls that recommended them- they are doing so for a reason-- b/c they WORK! And you CAN do it b/c you are smart and dedicated...

And in the mean time, waitressing or hostessing at night will help hold you over... And you should take your time with job hunting-- don't settle and since you have severance don't say 'oh God, I'd better take the first job I can get'... Just remember, jobs are going to WANT you b/c of your reliable track record!!

So, feel good about yourself girly!!

never said that they didn't work, i said they can take a while...If that is an option then yes, definitely need to use all resources...If someone is looking for a job right away then a recruiter is the way to go...I got a job the next day, and i know people who have gotten it in a week or less...Also if they dont have jobs that you are interested in, they will send you out on temp jobs in the meantime, and the temp jobs don't pay that bad, its $21 an hour.

Just giving more options, which i don't think is a bad idea to have more options available to you...This is not a debate about which method you HAVE to use to get a job, it's about helping her find a job. I just want to let her know that it can take time with those sites, sometimes it gets people even more down when they wait a while and don't hear anything so also wanted to explain why this happens.


But like i said, this thread is about helping her find a job, so i'll go back to that now

First of all, what I am not understanding is WHY you are thinking that this is directed at you (besides your reasons) when a. I'm TELLING YOU it is NOT directed at you and b. I never quoted you... This is me, stating for the record that it was a coincidence so back off... Stop hijacking Tatum's thread that's about HER! I'm trying to be extra supportive b/c she is an awesome girl who has been there for me in so many ways in the past...

Second, why are you bringing up something that happened in the past on another board, about a totally different topic?? That has NOTHING to do with this...
