Small wedding (75) by the water/garden in Westchester/Bronx/Manhattan

Original post by sept08ihope

Hi everyone, I am new to the board and tried to run some searches on small weddings (less than 75) not to far from uptown manhattan, preferably in westchester, new rochelle, bronx. I want it to be by the water or have gardens. Also if the rooms has windows with any kind of great view and outdoor space, that would be great. TALL ORDER I KNOW!! lol
is that too much to ask for?? lol
also price around $100pp or less before tax and service.
i hope to be able to help out other brides any way i can so i thank all the brides in advance for any advice...

Westchester:
Check out

Greentree CC (the smaller room is so pretty and its on the water!)
The Davenport club (on the water!)
Beckwith Pointe

or even try
Waters Edge in LIC-- sooo close to the city and Beautiful- they even have a water taxi that goes from 34th st in the city to the restaurant! It looks like you can touch the city from the room!

You should definitely look into the River Room of Harlem- right on the water, holds about 80 guests, newly rennovated, inexpensive, and in the park, so there's a private garden available for an outdoor ceremony!

I attended a wedding there back in October and it was spectacular! Speak to Ena - she'll help you w/whatever you need, and tell her Christine Viola sent ya!

Swan club is in Nassau but is beautiful and they have min as little as 40 swan club click here

Another vote for swan club! (of course) Gardens are gorgeous! I am from the Bronx like 5 mins away from the marina and villa barone and i knew i DIDNT want a wedding here or any of those places on davenport ave that have been done 1000x over by fam members..

swan club is about 30 mins from the TN bridge (exit 39 off LIE)

ETA: and they most certainly can hold smaller receptions! check em out! i also have a ton of pics in my album on here

i was going to suggest the old field club where i got married and had an intimate wedding of about only 50, its on the water...it was amazing, but it looks like youre not wanting to get married that far out. GL!

My hall does smaller weddings but only on weekdays, including Friday nights. It's on 51st and 5th Ave. It's not near the water or a park but it's is VERY close to Rockafellar center.

oh, there's also Top of the Times at Times Square. The price is reasonable because they can only hold 75 ppl max and it has no dance floor. or very small dance area depending on how you arrange the tables. It also comes with a huge roof top terrace. I passed because most of the space is outdoors and what if it rains?

Have you looked into having the wedding at Wave HIll (gardens in Riverdale overlooking the Hudson River) or the NY Botanical Garden (Bronx) or the Bronx Zoo? These tend to be a bit pricey though, but I'm sure it'll be gorgeous!

Also, some of the waterside restaurants in Manhattan can sometimes accomodate small weddings. I also remember reading about a restaurant at the top of a tall building on Columbia University's campus...maybe they can handle a small wedding.

Good luck!
