My FH lives in white Nikes, he would wear them to work if he could. His one major request has always been white Nikes for himself and th GM. He wants to make them a gift to his friends. I honestly don't care I think it's so him and they'll all be comfy and happy. I'm getting outside opinions that it looks silly. I'm just curious what you girls think.

It depends on the whole look and feel of the wedding.
I have seen itdone tastefully and tacky. I never saw it with Nike only converse

I dont think it's silly at all. I debated it but my mother nearly had a stroke (FH keeps teasing her now that he will find her a pair of converse pumps that she has to wear)
Maybe for the ceremony and some more formal pix they can wear the tux shoes then change into the sneakers for the reception

I think that as long as they are comfortable and not showing off the sneakers at inopportune times it's fine. For the ceremony the pants will cover most of the sneaker.
I think for the reception is fine, but I wouldn't have them wear them for the ceremony.

I am contemplating about doing the converse only because FH's grooms men are not ones to dress up and they would love to keep them afterwards and actually wear them!! My mom may have a fit but I don't care :)

FH is doing this! He's making custom converse for all his groomsmen. I'm also changing into the sparkely Toms sneakers after our frist dance and I'm getting them for all of my girls to wear at the reception so their feet don't hurt and they can dance and have fun and be comfy!
Is it proper? Probably not. But its very us and really thats all that matters to me!

I am wearing wedding TOMS too for our reception! I wore the spakrly ones for my graduation from my MA. I looked stylin' when I went up to get my diploma!

Not silly, FH and his groomsmen will be wearing sneakers as well. I broached the subject with FH, and he didn't even know it was allowed or done at weddings! I know they'll all be happier and much more comfortable in sneakers; the only stipulation is they have to be new and clean.

My FH had thrown around the idea of getting the groomsmen classic Adidas sneakers to wear. Just remember its YOUR wedding, you can do it however you want to.

I think it's your wedding and you should do whatever makes you happy. It sounds like they will be brand new completely unscuffed white sneakers so I say if it really will make him happy and you don't mind....go for it!!!

We are doing sneakers too. They will be wearing shoes fir the ceremony ( along with gray tuxes- not black) and gray and white nikes with their nicknames on the tongue for the reception. You can design your own shoe on the Nike website so that's what we did.

Mine too!! He wzs so excited about the sneakers. There were only 3 things that excited him about the wedding: his bachelor party (which he is on right now in Vegas)
