SO...

SO...

David's Bridal called me yesterday and said that my dress is in. This is great, BUT I think it's off the rack! They told me they were ordering a NEW one from the warehouse and it would be in June19th. It's only been a week! It makes me PO'd the they would tell me it's new if it really isn't! I don't know maybe I'm overreacting

They don't really order NEW dresses. If they don't have your dress in the store they find a dress in your size and color in any of the stores in the country and ship it to the store you ordered it from.
I just got my dress, they said it would be in in August and I picked it up on Saturday. It's in pristine condition.
Just make sure you examine it before you sign for it.

I think you should call and ask if they are certain a new gown came from the warehouse? You will definitely be able to tell if it was off the rack when you go for your first fitting so if they are lying you will know. I think that is nuts if that is what they did. But I would just straight out ask them and see what they say. What do you think?

That's what they told me, they had my size in the store and it had some pulled beads and there was a huge black mark on the train. They said it needed to go for 'alterations' I'm sure it's the exact dress I tried on just fixed.

Go and check it out. And then ask them if it's off the rack, be blunt. I cant see using a dress that was worn a billion times already

I don't think they would tell me the truth, but I totally agree with what you're saying! I want brand new it's my wedding day! I was in such a cranky mood yesterday because of it!

I know me either, I mean the dress I tried on didn't look as bad as some do. It wasn't dirty or anything just a few beads falling off. I was blunt that I wasn't going to buy the dress unless they ordered a NEW one from the warehouse and the manager told me she would order it from the warehouse

If you made a stink about not buying THAT dress, I don't think they would give you that one. They probably would have looked for another one to give you.

this happened to me as well. They said the ivory dress had to be ordered but when it came in it had some loose beads..nothing major and it didnt have any marks on it or anything..just for the few loose beads that were easily fixable it was in perfect condition so i didnt worry about it. But yeah it does s u ck when they tell you it will be new and it isnt...

Re: SO...

question for everyone because I havent started dress shopping... Davids bridal doesnt ORDER a dress for you? You mean you take the one that everyone else has tried on? Sorry if I sound stupid, but if your paying all this money for a new dress ... I would think you would want one that hasnt been touched by everyone.. Or maybe I am misunderstanding?

If the dress you want is in stock in the store you normally have to buy off the rack unless if the dress is in bad shape. Then they will put out an order for a new one to come in.
My dress was a special order item. I don't know where they ordered it from, but, when I got it, I could tell it has never been tried on. It had no pulls, everything was tightly sewn, it was in pristine condition.
