So a little drama- long story

So FH tells me today that one of his groomsmen (cousin) backed out of the wedding party. In short, he has a sister, who apparently is bummed out that she isn't apart of my party. She's a great girl, who has offered over and over to help with planning the wedding and I really love her, but I just couldn't added her.

I have had so much drama thus far, originally I had 6 girls, but removed 2 due to various reason... (They both for the most part were great and understanding)

With the current 4, I am having some issues, one of the girls is just not very responsive, another one who's pregnant, and one, whom is having issues with her marriage. My maid of honor is the only one that has been strong and there for me as much as possible.

so back to the subject my FH is bummed about his Groomsmen backing out b/c he feels bad that his sister is bummed.

After thinking it through and speaking with my FH, we were considering adding her in and one of the other girls that was originally in the party, but that brings us back to 6, which we really don't want.

So now I'm not sure to be annoyed or touched that the female cousin is bummed and adding to the drama...

Advice?

That really sweet that she's been there for you but I would steer clear of the BP drama... Maybe ask her to do a reading for you?

Honestly, I think the GM is being a little dramatic over it. I've never heard of a guy backing out because his sister couldn't be in it. If I were in your shoes I'd have her do a reading. Hopefully the GM can deal with that. Good luck chickie!

ETA: sorry, just saw that it's his cousin. so i could kinda see why he might feel that way.

Who knows if she is someone that is really going to be helpful maybe it will benefit you to have her.

Thanks girls for the advice, I was actually thinking about asking her to do a reading, I do want to some how incorporate her into the wedding... But I think her brother is beinga little dramatic, backing out of the wedding. Just stinks to deal with this crap, especially with the wedding right around the corner... i guess we'll see how it goes, thanks again...

PS - Soon2BMrsAlini, i'm also a swannie, my wedding day is 10/16 the day b4 yours...

I wouldn't change anything. BP drama is ridiculous, and no bride should have to deal with it. People are picked/not picked from the beginning for a reason.

Personally, I wouldn't add her to my party..It sounds like very childish behavior on the brother's part.. If you want to ask her to read, that is nice of you..Me, I would feel like it is emotional blackmail. I think you will have enough stress than to deal with this kind of man made drama.. Do what is best for you.. I am also getting married in Oct. and the idea of making changes now is not pleasant.....

Re: So a little drama- long story

If you don't feel like she's a close friend or someone that you feel has a place in your bridal party I just wouldn't include her.

After a lot of thinking and some great advice from our fellow LI Wedding gals, I have decided NOT to include my FH's sister.

She is just not someone that I would want standing next to me on my big day. Even though she is going to be my SIL I do not see us ever being friends.

We both have dominant personalities and when I was a part of her BP she was not very accommodating with my needs. I was a college student at the time and VERY broke! As most college kids are.

No one can tell you that they expect to be in your BP. Perhaps it's fine that she's upset about it, but let her know that you value her greatly but you had a larger BP and trimmed it down to size when you realized a smaller BP was right for you. And although you aren't interested in increasing your BP to its original size you would be honored if she took part in a different manner, perhaps a reading during the ceremony.
