So a year ago this week....

Peter was coming home from Iraq!!!

I can't believe how much time has flown! He left Iraqi soil on May 11, 2006. And was on American soil for Mother's Day, 2006. I am so grateful to have him home for almost a year now...My own personal hero!!!

We are going to church on Friday to pray for all his buddies that are still there, and all the men and women in our armed forces who are out there. And then a celebratory dinner for him being home safe!!!

I am just so proud of him and so happy he has been home for a whole year now!!

Those of you who have been on this site forever know the whole story and all I went through while I was gone. Thanks for all your support during that time, and all the friendship and love afterwards

That is awesome! I know how hard it must have been, my FH came home from Iraq in August 2003. I'm sure you are so proud of Peter just as I am so proud of my FH. Enjoy your dinner!

Can't believe it's been a year!!! So happy he's back home safe and I pray that all our other armed forces have a safe journey home too!!

Wow! Time has flown!! SO glad he is home & in your arms...and please please please let him know that there are people like me, who witnessed 9-11 first hand who know the value of what they are doing over there to keep us safe here!!!!! FH's childhood friend is over there now..it is a HUGE sacrifice and it was their choice to enlist, which makes it even more heroic...tell him and his buddies THANK YOU!!!! God bless them!!!

How can I ever forget the phone call that came from Nina on the night before Mother's Day last year @10:45 PM wishing me a Happy Mother's Day and in her words ' Happy Mother's Day, Peter is on US soil' . Those were the most wonderful words I could have heard.
I too intend to go to church to thank god for my hero's safe return and the safe return of all the others still there.
I also have to thank Nina for being such a wonderful FDIL and letting me know everything that was going on with Peter if he couldn't call himself.
I LOVE YOU NINA and I LOVE MY HERO, MY SON, PETER.

P.S. Thank you to all of you girls too who helped Nina plan and get through the whole ordeal of planning a wedding by herself.

It is truly a blessing that he is home!! I can only imagine the joy you all felt when he returned!!
