I can't believe how much time has flown! He left Iraqi soil on May 11, 2006. And was on American soil for Mother's Day, 2006. I am so grateful to have him home for almost a year now...My own personal hero!!!
We are going to church on Friday to pray for all his buddies that are still there, and all the men and women in our armed forces who are out there. And then a celebratory dinner for him being home safe!!!
I am just so proud of him and so happy he has been home for a whole year now!!
Those of you who have been on this site forever know the whole story and all I went through while I was gone. Thanks for all your support during that time, and all the friendship and love afterwards

aww that is great - i definietly can relate - my FH was in Iraq twice! that was the hardest time of our lives but thakfully they are home safe now!

It's amazing how slow times moves while they are gone and flies once they return home! My FH has been home 6 months. Time is a crazy thing.

I wasn't on LIW a year ago, but if I was I probably would've cried reading your posts about him being in Iraq!! well god has blessed you both that he's been home safe & sound for a year already!! You guys are a very strong couple to go through that!! and some prayers for those soldiers who are still there......

Nina!!! Wow, I remember you posting about this last year-- I can't believe it has been a year!! What a wonderful year though!
You have no idea how grateful I am to Peter and all of our soldiers who risk their lives for the freedoms we enjoy (and sometimes take for granted) every single day!! There are no words to show my appreciation.
What a true American Hero. He should be so proud of himself and hold such pride in what he has done for our Country and the people living in America!
