SO ANNOYED!!!!! hospital drama

ok just called my mom and now let me briefly explain what happened monday before i tell you what they said today.

On monday is when they found out my dad has 2 blocked arteries. They told him they will take him to another hospital to do the surgery. Now before the doctor could say where my dad said 'Oh what about LIJ' the doctor said no we're going to take you to Lennox hill hospital and my dad said ok, the docs even said they'll be there too.

oK monday nobody came so fine. Next day my dad asked when is LENNOX HILL coming? they said it takes time so ok fine. Wednesday he asked the nurse again and she even called up Lennox hill.

Now to today-my mom told me that when he asked and somebody checked, well they told him, now get this 'ITS HIS FAULT' they said well you said you wanted LIJ' are these people out of their D*MN minds. He suggested it and the doctors said no and obviously its not him who calls to do this. ALl along the nurses and docs have been saying lennox hill, he even asked if they can call lennox hill so why today are they acting like they thought it was LIJ. Ok and if they thought that, did they call LIJ or have they come-NOOOOOO

obviously somebody messed up and now theyre blaming him. Well they said he'll be moved this afternoon so lets see

Ok when did your dad become the boss of the entire hospital?
If the doctors thought he should go to LIJ that's where they would have sent him and he wouldn't be waiting all this time for Lennox Hill.

How dare they even try to blame him!!!

I really hope everything goes well and they move him quickly.. the last thing he needs is stress and they should be trying to alleviate that .. not add to it!!

Yea exactly.. your dad was trying to be nice and helpful and suggest a place.. and they said no.. and now they try to act like your dad made all of the decisions.. that's so crazy!!

That is completely unacceptable! I cant believe they are trying to blame your father for not moving him- ridiculous. If I were you, I would head to the hospital administrator's office and see if that person can help get some action.

well supposedly they are moving him this afternoon. They probably called lennox and said to do something quick, im sure they'll want to cover their a**

They're just making excuses, it's so obvious they screwed up. And it's so pathetic they're blaming a patient...they shouldn't be giving him more stress, and even if it was a patient's fault, they shouldn't be pointing fingers...so unprofessional!

i know right, its like ok lets upset the patient waiting for heart surgery, thats real smart

I'd be fuming! I hope he does get moved today though. You should file a complaint about this. It's unacceptable and his insurance company needs to be made aware of the situation too. The last thing he needs is for stuff not to be covered because of the hospitals error!

Denise sorry your dad and your family have to through all of this because someone was not compentant enough to do their job properly the first time.

I hate when people just can't own up to their own mistake and insist on pointing the finger -- just makes them look worse not better.

very good point. If i get home from work and he is still there then i amcalling up lennox and telling them what happened and maybe that will make them act quicker. Not lennox's fault obviously but maybe something will get done if they know

I remember someone on here saying all the paperwork that had to be done, they might've called for lennox to come and i think they didnt do all the paperwork they had to give lennox and now someone might've realized so instead of taking the blame they'll blame a man who has been in the hospital for 11 days, 3 of those days just waiting around and also waiting for heart surgery which he is already scared about.

At this point they just need to get him there.

Definitely, it just really ***** that he's still waiting around. Hopefully they figure out where they're sending him and send him out soon, so that he can continue getting treatment as opposed to just wasting days waiting around. Lots of luck!!

i think if they dont move him today he is going to go nuts and go off on everybody lol which i don't blame him.

My friend is studying to become a RN and she told me that some of the doctors in the hospitals are such diicks...They are never wrong...they will blame whoever just so they don't catch the heat.

I hope he gets transfered ASAP!

My mom was in the hospital last year and the whole staff was a binch of idiots so we tried to get her transfored, her personal doctor even signed off on it but the hospital just would not make it happen so my father finally had to check her out and bring her to the other emergency room..they said that they wouldn't cover if anything happened while she was being transported but nothing happened and it was so much better. but my point is that sometimes they do such stupid things and don't think about the fact that these are people they are dealing with real issues!!!

OH WOW that is crazy. Yeah i was thinking before, are they telling me lennox is so full that if anybody in the area called an ambulance they wouldn't admit anybody for 3 days. I swear that thought crossed my mind, ill just call 911 while hes still in that hospital well maybe right outside lol. I am gonna call before i leave work to see if he is at lennox today. I wanted to go see him today and i dont even know where to go.

That's crazy. You would think that at least 1 person would have the brains to follow up on patients. It's scary to think of what happens to the patients who don't have dedicated family around them to ask questions! I hope your Dad gets all the care he needs and no more aggrivation. You and your family are in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. It's really ridiculous. I went through something similar when my mom had a heart attack. It took the hospital that she was originally at 4 days to get her transferred to North Shore so she could have bi-pass surgery.
I really hope everything works out and i hope your dad is feeling better!!
