so bored with my life....

ok so i finished my masters program in sept. and haven't found a new job since graduating. So i have a really crappy job that i hate...which i know i should be thankful to have in this economy..

however...i also feel like i have nothing going on...like no hobbies or anything. I mean FH and I go out a lot with friends on the weekend...but i just feel like other than that i dont DO anything. I just sit around on the computer or watching tv after a crappy days at work... it would be nice to have some type of hobby/interests outside of wedding planning...i just don't really know what kind of things i could be doing...

anyone else feel this way?

i'm the opposite, if i'm not working at job 1 i'm working at job 2 dancing (hobby), or like right now i'm playing softball during the week. I feel like i have no time for anything else. I'd like to eventually take piano lessons when i have some more $ and time.

When u were in HS were u involved in any type of clubs or sports? If so that would be the best place to start in regards to hobbies.

I felt that way...Life just got so repetative after a while..SO I started to do little things like workout dvd's...then i started to go to the gym...It helps me get my mind off of cr@ppy things for a while and it gives me something to do, and its something that is just mine, not mine and fh's, just me doing what i want...

Maybe you can start to rollerblade, run, walk...something to do, you know?!

It's just a fun time to be silly, active and have something to do. It's in the city on weeknights, thought maybe it could help in what you're looking for!

i know what you mean bc my friends that live in D.C. have been on a kickball team for the past few years and have a blast...

thanks ladies ...i just have been feeling blah lately....i am gonna start looking into some things i can get into and hopefully that makes me feel better!

haha thats so funny because my friend signed up for kickball and one day i messaged her because i was in the city and wanted to know if she was there and she said she just left kickball. and i was like kickball??? whats kickball??? so random

I dated a guy back in the day who played on a dodgeball team, he was 25 lol. I never heard of it before but it sounded fun but is actualy pretty violent lol.

Yesss it is actually!! My friend is soo tiny and was real intimidated at first. She like hid in the back until she was more confortable. She picked a lower level team too, people can get crazy lol.

what about volunteering???? i volunteer through NYCares. you have to go to one orientation (about an hour or so and then you can sign up for whatever events you'd like to help out with. So far i've walked dogs at an animal shelter, decorated christams trees that were auctioned off to raise $100,000, and accompanied underprivledged kids on trips to museums, bowling & other fun activities. There are so many projects to choose from. Its a great way to meet new people, network and its also rewarding

thats how i feel at work... im ready tp move to a diff dept im just now into my job that much

vent away... we're all pretty much in the same boat. all saving for the big day and can't go out spending like we used too...((sigh))

I do appreciate the time we do get out though.

what kinda job are you looking for? i work in non profit which is kinda recession proof so people always have openings.

i live in the city too but as soon as i get home from work and walk the dog and cook/eat dinner im done. i dont wanna have any hobbies. :sigh:

my SIL makes my brother and her take cake decorating classes at AC Moore. I know Michael's does it too. at first he was wary but now they're both into it.
