you said it indirectly

i'm trying to avoid the drama that i've seen latley on LIWeddings...just to let ya know

I was trying to avoid the drama also, which is why I said 'don't start', till you said that I SAID something that I absolutely did NOT say, and HORRIFICALLY INSULTING. It has nothing to do with 'people having money'....I would still like to know what you meant by that actually. So people should want feel like they are being ripped off?

ps - bridget I think you just found found me a place to make a separate album using different pics.....

ok..lets all be happy now and huh
i mean no harm and don't want to be.

For $3900 (paying cash so no tax) I am getting

Engagement photo session
11x14 framed and matted photo from engagement shoot
4x6 photo proofs in a nice book

Wedding day coverage 8-10 hours
second photographer
unlimited film
1 CD of jpeg scans so I can email photos
proof printouts (not the 4x6 prrofs)
all negatives (digital)
Leather Art album (very expensive but this is included in above price) for us (unlimited # of pics on 30 pages
2 smaller leather Art ablums for our parents
12x 18 framed and matted photo from wedding
thank you cards

15 casual photos of us from engagement shoot holding the table numbers that we will use at reception instead of just plain table numbers (martha Stewart idea)

Reprints are also very reasonably priced

I hate it because where ever we go, the price is jacked up because of where we are getting married. I HATE it!

Where are you getting married? We are getting married at a fairly expensive hall and we are got some great prices on our vendors!!

Wow, I go away for a few hours and this thread expanded! Whew! Well, I was not unhappy with this photographer, they can charge whatever they want and I know there are places that are WAY more expensive, but JT and I have decided to hire a photojournalist and NOT a wedding photographer. It's our style, so we don't really see the point in getting a wedding photographer. Thanks for all of the input girls! I really appreciate it

MCDO15,

you are not completely 100% accurate...yes, duet sends their book out, but only to process, not design...each couple sits with nicole and eric and design their own album...and there are various templates to be used...you will not end up with the same album as what is in the store, unless that is what you like exactly

this was an informative thread - thanks

i'm with you re: photojournalism and am interested in creating a digital album. i selected my photographer based on images and personality, the digital album i will take care of myself or we will work on it together. i'm taking a 'chance' going freelance, but i went with my gut on this one...

Good luck. others mention that you can send proofs to a company and you can make a ditigal album on your own afterwards
they are plenty of companies that do that from what i've seen
