So, everyone shows up to the church Friday night at 7:00pm for my rehearsal.....

and the lights are out and the doors are locked!!!! The priest forgot about the rehearsal!!!! He had knee surgery 2 weeks ago and wasn't having a 'good health week' and forgot all about it! Imagine 30 people standing outside a dark church in the rain!
So we went to the restaurant a little early and had a GREAT time! Boy, I hope he shows up next week!

Re: So, everyone shows up to the church Friday night at 7:00pm for my rehearsal.....

I know exactly how you feel. When I was married (30 years ago), we all went to our rehearsal on the Friday night before. We get there, the parking lot was filled. Walked into the church, the church was filled, only to find out that it was Catholic school graduation. After the graduation, we had our rehearsal. The priest went over all the timing for our wedding the next day. After the rehearsal, we all would go back to my house. Back then (LOL) we didn't have dinners but all went back to the B2B's house.

The next day, we all get to the church, I arrive on time, but the wedding didn't start on time.

To make this long funny (now funny) story very short, the priest was out playing basketball and completely forgot about our wedding. We were on the alter with no priest, no alter boys, no organist, NOTHING!

Threw the drama of the mishap of our day and 30 years later, its now a memory. I just wanted to share my experience.

The best of luck to you and your FH.

What a wonderful story!!! Thank you for sharing it with us and reminding us not to get too crazy about it now ~ that the marriage is what is important here. I hope to be writing my own humorous story in 30 years!

MomNT, GREAT story!

Hey, anyway, in theatre, we say 'bad dress rehearsal, good opening night'..so maybe it's 'bad/no rehearsal, FABULOUS wedding!' I hope so!
