...... to look for MOB dresses. As my Moms walking into the dressing room to try some things on we pass by this young woman, her Mom, and an assistant. The assistant is going on and on about how gorgeous and perfect this wedding gown looks on the girl.

This is a pic of the GOWN she had on....

So as Im passing, i say to the woman 'Congratulations, when are getting married??'
Shes turns to me and said 'Im not, its my SWEET SIXTEEN dress'

Then her Moms says 'isnt it beautiful, Im trying to convince her this is the one'

Am I the only one who thinks its a little odd that this woman has her 16 year old daughter trying on full fledge wedding gowns for her Sweet 16???!!!

That IS rediculous. I think all those shows, although funny to watch, are giving girls the idea that a sweet 16 needs to be this elaborate event. One of my friend's daughter is having a mardi gras theme and she was actually looking into a guy on stilts but quickly threw that idea out cuz the would charge her $600 for one hour! and the girl is really upset. I don't think i've ever seen white as a dress color for a sweet 16. I think it should be reserved for a wedding if anything.
