Re: So I had my eye surgery!

I just had it done on Thursday. it was a little wierd but the outcome is well worth it. It only takes about 10 minutes!!
If I went into the gorey details ya might get scared, J/K it wasn't that bad.
My regular eye Dr. is affiliated with the Lasik Center in Garden City, so to have the procedure done I had to go there, but his office is located in patchogue.

Congrats on your surgery!

How bad was your eyesight to begin with? Did you have to wait for your eyes to stabalize before getting it done?

I always sleep with my contacts in. I don't remove them at all (gas permible)

I try to explain to others what it's like to know I can wake up and see the clock, the corners on the walls, and things across the room in clarity. No one really understands. It's a wonderful feeling.

anyway!
Congrats on your surgery
Wish I could do it, but my eyes are still too bad

I REALLY want to get this done, but I'm a little scared!

Were you awake? Could you see the laser coming at you?

Re: So I had my eye surgery!

Yes - you are awake - but you can't 'feel' any pain - just a little pressure - and its over before you know it. You can see everything thats going on. Wierd feeling is all I can say to describe it.
It doesn't matter what your prescription is, even if its really bad you can still have it done - my aunt who was legally blind had it done. However the thickness of the cornea is what makes the difference, along with other factors as to why someone else might not be able to have it. You could probably ask your regular eye Dr. if you might be a candidate.
I havent heard of the age being a factor but I am 33. Hope this info helps all!

Re: So I had my eye surgery!

I had it done last Thursday, by Friday I was fine. A little dryness but they give you drops.
Now a week later - my eyes feel totally fine.

Wow- you NEVER have to remove your contacts? That sounds awesome, and I'm sure less expensive then surgery! I hate wearing contacts, my glases are OK, but they're a pain sometimes too, and I cannot afford the surgery! Can you please FM me with more info about this type of contacts that you have? I'd love to ask my eye Dr. about those. Thanks!!

Re: So I had my eye surgery!

I am pretty sure insurance doesn't cover any of this, can you give me an idea of prices, my husband really wants to do this?

Thanks,
